Apply "normal rounding" rules to Bookings percentage view in Schedule Board: 9,80% is shown as 9% not 10% !!!

Suggested by Sune Andersen New  0 Comments

Our resource planner, when planning the allocations for their team, use the percentage option. On some allocations, they are requested to book a specific percentage of a resource’s availability, e.g. allocations of admin projects.

In order to ensure that the percentage is showed correctly they need to make the allocation precise down to minutes. If even one minute off, the percentage will round down, and the percentage reflected will be lower than it actually is.

The recent (2023H1) changing of the rounding rule introduces an high level of precision required from the planners, as it leaves no margin for the resource planners. They need to get, the allocations right down to the number of minutes precisely with was not the case before.

A booking of 9.83%, is shown as 9% in the Schedule Board and not 10%. In order to show 10%, the resource planner will need to manually adjust all bookings across multiple months down to the minute - a very time-consuming task for the resource planners.

This level of precise does not provide the additional value compared to the time that the resource planner needs to spend adjusting the board to show the desired percentage. From a business perspective the new rounding rules on percentage does not make sense.

    Request

We would like the rounding as prior to the change; Where the rounding follows standard mathematical principles, hence rounding down if the digits are below 0.5 and up if equal to or above 0.5.

In case the product team wants to keep the newly introduction rules of rounding as-is, would alternative solutions be offered to accommodate the users, e.g.:

    • Customization options in settings on rounding principles
    • Showing digits on the percentage

New schedule board - retrieve resources query

Suggested by Eleonóra FARNADY New  1 Comments

On the schedule board there is an option to change the Retrieve resources query. In our system we made our on query to fetch the resources. However when a user updates the query on the board, it does not update immediately, the user has do do the update twice on each board. This takes time and education for all users to make the functionality work.

According to Microsoft support changing the query that is used to fetch resources does not automatically re-run the resource filter and search on the board.

For the time being there are no plans on to support this scenario since customers do not frequently change these settings as part of normal operation of the board (only in configuration and setup).

They have also suggested creating a new board tab that will have its own settings and can use its own resource query in case you need to switch between resource queries often. Possibly opening both schedule board tabs in separate windows.

Our customers would like to have this fetch updated automatically.

    Copy, Paste, Cut - Booking

Suggested by Alvaro SANCHEZ New  1 Comments

When several jobs are being performed by another team, following the same Work Order, we should be able to copy paste the booking to quickly assign the task. Also if we need to come back for any warranties, follow up, etc, it will be easier to copy paste existing booking and then just change the type of information inside, instead of creating new booking and add all the infos again

    Import Inspections from Excel

Suggested by Pierre Hulsebus New  0 Comments

We have customers with thousands of inspections that exist in Excel, Word, or SQL tables. The current model has them effectively manually recreating those inspections by hand. If we could provide an Excel Template to put the inspections into then import them it would allow for some automation for migration projects.

So we would like an Excel Template to be made available as an import utility for inspections.

Unify Service Tasks, Inspection Questions, Property Logs onto one Inspection Form

Suggested by AllThings MS New  0 Comments

Background Technicians perform inspections where they gather data (Property Log), complete tasks (Service Task) and perform Pass/Fail tests (Inspection Question). Property Logs associated with the Asset capture deltas and trends and can be enhanced via IoT. Service Tasks acknowledge work done and time spent. Inspections Questions track pass/fails based on a setpoint or standard.

All steps need to be pre-populated on one form in the correct order the Technician checks them. The order of the steps will be determined by the process flow and could be a mix of Property Logs, Service Tasks and Inspections Questions.

Issue: The current Inspection form cannot dynamically display related Service Tasks and Property Logs, requiring technicians to change form factors during an inspection as well as requiring custom reporting to display inspection answers in a logical format.

Request: Enable Inspection designer at Incident Level.

    1. Inspection Developer determines what Service Tasks fields show on the Inspection by choosing a system form.
    2. Inspection Developer determines what Property Log fields show on the Inspection by choosing a system form.
    3. Inspection Developer drag and drop Incident Service Tasks and Incident Property Logs on Inspection designer.
