Auto-Generate Property Logs for Work Order Incidents the way Service Tasks and Products can be generated

Suggested by AllThings MS New  3 Comments

    Scenario:

Technician is assigned Inspection/Audit Work Order and needs to capture telemetry/asset properties as for asset as of current time.

Currently, technician must manually create property asset logs and the reading time must be the created on date/time. This is too many clicks.

    Request:

The Work Order should generate Asset Property Logs based on the Asset Properties associated with Incident:

    Example:

    1. Fridge Compressor Inspection Incident Type has Temperature Asset Property and Pressure Asset Property.
    2. Work Order with Fridge Compressor Inspection Work Order Incident auto-generates blank property logs on create:
    3. Temperature: BLANK
    4. Pressure: BLANK
    5. Technician fills in the details from an editable grid or PCF similar to how Service Tasks can be completed from the FS Mobile App Service List
    6. Temperature: 98, Reading Time: Modified On
    7. Pressure: 40, Reading Time: Modified On

This would setup the possibility of having a mix of manually entered property logs and automated property logs enhanced by IoT. A "Pull Asset Property Logs" could automatically pull the readings for IoT enabled assets.

Set work hours for alternate week or month

Suggested by Rakesh Ambre New  0 Comments

Resource work hours has been kind of a gray area, which over the period of time has seen improvements in user interface. However, from functional perspective it still lacks sort of flexibility that Field system administrators would definitely welcome. Manually setting work hours for individual resource is more of a laborious task and needs lot of user input. It has been simplified to an extent with Set Calendar function which utilizes Work Hours Template. It is eventually some other resource's work hours used to create a reusable template which can be assigned to other bookable resources. One thing to note, setting calendar of a resource using work hours template, sets the entire calendar. So if the template has work hours for all 12 months then the work hours of the target resource to which this template is applied will be set for all 12 months. In a typical shift roaster, resources are planned in rotating shifts and usually the calendar of the resources are alternating either every week or month. Lets say, John who is operations analyst for Oil and gas company works every odd month in the morning shift (6 am to 6 pm) and in the night shift ( 6 pm to 6 am) in even month. Currently, there is no simple way to set John's calendar for the month of Jan (odd month) and copy it to the months of March, May, July and so on. There can be two solutions for it. 1. Simply having a Repeat option of "Alternate Month" will help to set the calendar for alternate months. 2. Set calendar function can be modified to extend resource's current calendar to other months. So John's work hours for the month of Jan can be set for the months of March, May, July etc.

Drag and drop multiple selected work orders to a resource on a scheduling board

Suggested by Mr Test Test New  0 Comments

The scenario we have is that a customer on the same worksite has ordered several changes to be done during the workday.

Our planner wants to manually select multiple work orders and assign them to a technician (resource) on the scheduling board.

It can get quite tedious to drag and drop 10-15 work orders to the same resource.

Enhancement Request: Add Certification Duration and Expiry Tracking to Characteristic and Resource Characteristic Tables

Suggested by Mark Christie New  0 Comments

    Objective:

To enhance the Characteristic and Resource Characteristic tables by adding functionality that handles certifications. This includes tracking the duration of certifications, automatically calculating the expiration date based on the duration, and providing a view that shows certificates expiring in the next 6 months. This ensures proper compliance and helps manage resource certifications efficiently.

    Detailed Requirements:

    1. Add Certification Duration to the Characteristic Table

    • Characteristic Type Field:
    • A field already exists (or will be enhanced) to classify Characteristic Type (e.g., Skill, Certification, etc.).
    • New Duration Field (Duration of Certification):
    • A new Duration field will be added to the Characteristic Table for characteristics where the Type is set to Certification. This will be a duration field (e.g., months or years), which indicates how long the certification remains valid.
    • Example: For a Zamboni certification that is valid for 2 years, the Duration field will be set to 2 years.

    2. Add Start and End Date Auto-Population to Resource Characteristic Table

    • Start Date and End Date Fields:
    • In the Resource Characteristic Table, when a characteristic of type Certification is selected, two additional fields will appear: Start Date and End Date.
    • Automatic End Date Calculation:
    • Once the Start Date is populated, the End Date will be automatically calculated based on the Duration defined in the Characteristic Table.
    • For example:
    • If a resource, such as a Zamboni driver for the Perth Panthers, receives their certification starting on January 1, 2024, and the certification duration is 2 years, the system will automatically set the End Date to January 1, 2026.

    3. Create a View for Certificates Expiring in the Next 6 Months

    • New Expiring Certifications View:
    • A new view will be created in the system called Certificates Expiring in the Next 6 Months.
    • This view will list all resource characteristics where the End Date is within the next 6 months from the current date. It will provide visibility to resource managers so they can track upcoming certification expirations and ensure timely renewals.
    • Filtering and Alerts:
    • The view can be filtered by characteristic type (e.g., Zamboni Certification, First Aid Certification) and by resource (e.g., Perth Panthers Zamboni drivers).
    • This ensures that managers can stay on top of expiration deadlines and prevent any lapses in certification.

    Workflow Overview:

    1. Characteristic Table Setup:

    • A new Duration field will be added to characteristics where the Type is set to Certification.
    • Example:
    • Characteristic: Zamboni Driver Certification
    • Duration: 2 years (configured in the system)

    2. Resource Characteristic Setup:

    • When assigning a Certification characteristic to a resource (e.g., Perth Panthers Zamboni driver), two new fields, Start Date and End Date, will appear.
    • After entering the Start Date, the End Date will be auto-populated based on the Duration field from the Characteristic Table.
    • Example:
    • Resource: Zamboni Driver for Perth Panthers
    • Characteristic: Zamboni Driver Certification
    • Start Date: January 1, 2024
    • End Date: January 1, 2026 (auto-calculated based on the 2-year duration)

    3. View for Expiring Certificates:

    • A view will be created that shows all certifications expiring in the next 6 months.
    • This view will include details like the Resource Name, Certification Type, Start Date, and End Date.
    • Example:
    • View Name: Certificates Expiring in the Next 6 Months
    • Filters: Certification Type (e.g., Zamboni Driver Certification) and Resources (e.g., Perth Panthers drivers)

    Example Scenario:

    • Perth Panthers Zamboni Driver:
    • A Zamboni driver for the Perth Panthers is assigned the Zamboni Driver Certification characteristic.
    • The certification duration is 2 years, so when the resource characteristic is created for the driver, the Start Date is entered as January 1, 2024. The system automatically calculates the End Date as January 1, 2026.
    • The Certificates Expiring in the Next 6 Months view will show this certification when it is 6 months from expiring (around July 2025), allowing the team to plan for renewal before the expiration.

    Customer specific scheduling/work hours

Suggested by Jeevarajan Kumar New  0 Comments

Different customers works with different work hours in different period of time. Unfortunately, we don't have any work hours that are bounded to the customer. We do have Work Hours template that can be attached to a customer (Service Account) but it doesn't define the customer's operating hours i.e. doesn't control when a job can be scheduled to the customer.

At the moment, we are relying on the promised date and time but its not flexible. If we can add a work hours calendar to Accounts similar to that of Resources and restrict the booking as per this with an extendible overriding option similar to Outside Work Hours, similar to Bookable Resource, it will be helpful.

Same behaviour between views Schedule Board

Suggested by Colet Prooij New  0 Comments

    Idea 1:

Within the schedule board – Hourly view I have the option REBOOK when i right mouse click on the booking

When I check the daily/weekly/monthly view I do not have the option REBOOK when i right mouse click on the booking

All views should work the same and show the REBOOK option

    Idea 2:

When I click on the expand icon when i hover over a booking within the hourly view, the WORK ORDER is opened

When I do this in the daily view, not the Work Order is opened but the Resource Requirement.

All views should work the samen, the WORK ORDER should be opened
