Provide Option to Set Unit of Measure during Engineering Product Creation
There is no option to specify the Unit of Measure when creating an 'Engineering Product'.
This causes a problem when using dual-write to integrate Products to CRM. This is because CRM requires a Unit Class/Group to be specified at the point of creation, with no option to work...
Copy document information from engineering change request to change order
On the engineering change request, information is documented in the document section of the ECR.
When the product is copied to a new engineering change order, using copy link and products, this information is not copied to the engineering change order.

Add the ability to filter Released items by item dimensions (tracking, storage)
Often, especially when testing or checking for issues, you need to find items that match a particular storage or tracking dimension - for example, when you want to check items that are batch or serial controlled, or you realise in testing that some items have been setup incorrectly.

Approved vendors by product variant
Allow the approved vendor list from Released products to include product dimensions. It is entirely possible to have approved vendors that are different according to some combination of product dimensions.

Block purchase order creation but not open purchase order lines.
Hi Team,
In release products , Engineer - > default order settings we have an option under Purchase "Stopped" checkbox.
If we are enabling it, it blocks creation of purchase orders manually or from Master Planning and also open purchase order lines.
Thanks for your input! This is already posssible to be done by using the detailed business processes of the product lifecycle state.
You will need to enable the Engineering Change Management configuration key. When you do, in the form "Product lifecycle state" you will see a more controlled business processes. You can create your own lifecycle states and create one that does not allow purchase. When you assign this lirfecycle state to a proudct, it will prevent the product to be added to new purchase orders, but it will still allow the existing lines to be continued. You do not need to use any of the existing Engineering Change Management functionality.
There is an idea that is to make the product lifecycle state indpendent of the Engineering Change Management configuration key, and you can vote it if desired on: Microsoft Idea (dynamics.com)

Linking notes to formula lines, when cursor focus is on inventdim field
When creating a note on a formula line, the following happens:
* When selecting a formula line, and adding a note, everything works fine, and the note is added as 'attachment for bom lines'.
* When selecting one of the dimension fields on the formula line (configuration, size, colo...

Ability to sort attribute types
When I create a new value for attribute type it appears on the end of list. If we use value like "ratio of gearbox" then after some time we have more than 50 different values. When I want to sort all of them numerically then every time I need to click Move up button. If I just created the smalles...

Having Item name / description on all forms
It will be great if we have on transaction lines the item name / description also along with the item code. It is not convenient for end users to see only the item code. I know the description can appear when hovering on the item code but not enough when we have multiple lines. It should be on a...

Using different weight and mass unit of measure (USCS/Metric,kg/lbs,cm/inch) in different legal entities
We have the issue that we have the usage of 2 different unit of measure systems in our legal entities. The european uses the metric and the us the USCS unit of measure system. Looking on our products all mass values are maintained in kg and all length values are maintained in cm. In the FnO envi...

Please add the unit sequence id field to the CREATE RELEASED PRODUCTS screen. Please!!!
WHen creating a new item and using advanced warehousing the mandatory field "unit sequence id" is not available. This is unacceptable. I should be able to create a new released prod with all mandatory field in one step. Now I have to NOT FORGET to enter that field after I created the item. I can...

As a workaround, you can create a released template product, assign it to the release policy that is assigned to the engineering category, and thus, when the item is created (released) in the engineering category it will get by default the unit of measure assigned to the released template item.
