Possibility to update the configuration ID on Item master with posted transactions

When trying to change the configuration ID on the Item master (Product Master > Product Dimensions > Configurations) with the posted transactions, the system is not allowing to change the configuration ID.

The Idea is to change product configuration ID when the Product and Variant has transactions posted.
