Warn/ inform the user that no demand is created because of wrong BOM/ Route
Our factory was nearly out of stock because production orders had been created with a BOM not having all cost prices calculated. The order was not reflecting demand for underlying parts of the BOM. For scheduled orders it looked like although we are not sure as we fixed the cost price issue. A ro...
Add 'Group by Warehouse' ability for firming planned purchase orders
Currently there is no ability for the firming process to group planned purchase orders based on the warehouse location of the selected lines. Specifically, when applying a firming timefence to a coverage group associated with an item to be delivered to multiple warehouse locations, the system ...
Forecast consumption on second level for phantoms
The innovation in AX 2012 to add forecast consumption by "any transaction" was very important. It closed the gap for the Assembly to Order business scenarios.
These scenarios require forecasting on a level below a configured end product. The forecast is maintained on major subas...

Order multiples, and Min and Max order quantities on item coverage
We can over-ride most of the coverage group settings on Item coverage, but we can't set specific order multiples, and minimum and maximum order quantities on an item coverage record, although it'd be very useful if we could.
Thank you for your feedback.
Starting with the 2016 Fall release of Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise Edition we have introduced the possibility to define default order settings (hence all the order quantities) in a way that is closer to item coverage rules: by site, color, configuration, size and style. Unfortunately, you still can't define default order settings per warehouse. Could this be something that you can use to achieve your business scenarios?

Replenishment based on Reorder point (ROP)
Through the Safety stock-calculation we already have the possibility to calculate the ROP-levels based on the average issue during lead time. However, as the Master scheduling regards the date when the Minimum quantity is reached as a Requirement date (Delivery date) - and not as an Order date...

Gantt chart to check capacity reservations when changing resources
Currently, on Gantt-chart's Resource view, when changing one resource to another on scheduled production order, validation does not check finite capacity, but just returns infolog: "Gantt chart is OK". Change proposal: Add a new parameter to tell if Finite Capacity should be checked or not. If ...
Work needs to finish on calendar opening period
My customer is using production orders to reserve personnel capacity to serve their customers. Their staff works mostly from 08:00 to 16:00. When scheduling production orders, sometimes first available slot is late in the afternoon. As a result, production order could be scheduled to start on ...
Sales order is considered by planning before the order is confirmed
If you create a sales order using type "Sales order" in the system, this is seen by master planning even before the order has actually been confirmed (creating demand and suggestions for purchase orders / production orders). This is only possible if you select the sales order type 'Journal' for ...
