The table sequence items does not support the maintenance of an item's product dimensions. Often it is the product dimension that determines the sequence of an item, e.g. color.

We think that the time has come to add this feature.

Without this feature only few of the manufacturing companies can implement it

I agree 100% with the comments above. in addition you are forcing a use to no only have unique skus for colors but also unique BOMS as well rathr than taking advantage of the bom line configuration capabilities to reduce the number of BOMS and BOM Maintenance. Anyone with a Paint Booth in their production line wants to sequence the parts /assemblies to be painted

Very often the production must respect for example to program the lightest color to the darkest or the smallest to the biggest.

Without the addition of item dimensions, this function can only very rarely be implemented.

Is there any further progress on this idea? The sequencing logic is very nice and something we commonly are asked about by our clients. But without incorporating product dimensions into the logic, it is a half-baked solution. You are forcing clients who really want to include this functionality in their overall solution to define unique products to represent the variants. This defeats the whole idea behind product dimensions and variants.
