Interactable content with persistence throughout steps
Suggested by Raide n – New – 0 Comments
Scenario: I am using Guides to instruct on assembling a physical collection of parts.
I have given a supplementary list of numbered parts: "Overview of parts." which has pictures of all of the parts in the scene.
I would like to bring this "Overview of parts" list with me as an interactable hologram throughout the Guide, so that I can manually position the list near my workspace, and refer to it throughout the Guide steps.
- This idea is similar to, "Anchor a Hologram across multiple steps, except that I want to place a 3D part in 1 Step, and then set it as interactable + persist throughout the remaining steps at its user-specified location.
What is the best way to open persistent content throughout a Guide, without opening it in a separate Slate window application?
I want to display the Parts Overview page across all of the guide steps, but only utilize the interface built-in to Guides, and wondering if a persistent hologram could be a potential solution.

Set up guide before Scanning Anchor
Suggested by Desiree Ong – New – 0 Comments
-Add Task option to display set up before Anchor | QR Code scan.
With Guides that are ADHOC and can be set up anywhere with an available table surface.
It would be helpful to create a task to show Set up and QR code position before scanning.
Thanks,

- Ability to see a thumbnail image of the media panel when viewing overall task flow.
- Ability to duplicate task and steps.
HoloLens Guide Author usability.
- Ability to lock assets during author mode so that assets can be set close together without accidentally moving the previous set asset.
- Ability to see an angle marker or a ghost image of previous position to get better accuracy in placing objects.
- Ability to gain a keyboard to make notes or adjust task within HoloLens.
- Ability to delete hologram asset within HoloLens Guide.

ms-guides:// support for switching environments with URL (link to this guide)
Suggested by Raide n – New – 0 Comments
My tenant has two environments (Development and Production).
The production environment contains 1:1 copies of Guides from the Development environment.
When I use the Dynamics 365 Guides (for Windows) app to "Copy link to this guide" (E.G. ms-guides://productionEnvironmentURL/g/xxxxxxxxxx) I try to scan the URL with the headset, but the headset enters the guide within the Development environment, despite the fact that the Production URL is embedded inside of the ms-guides:// link.
The Guides headset user has full permissions to switch over to the Production environment, but the HoloLens 2 Guides app does not heed the productionEnvironmentURL inside of the link to the Guide and simply enters the 1:1 copy of the guide inside of the Development environment.
I wonder why the environment URL is encoded inside of the link, if it does not tell the Guides app to switch environments?
Thank you for taking a look!!

Option to Replay Step (re-animate the scene)
Suggested by Raide n – New – 0 Comments
For Guides containing 3D animated steps, there is no way to repeat the current step animation after it has finished looping.
The user could say "Go back" and then "Next Step" to repeat the animation, but this method causes unnecessary loading of assets.
A "Replay step" button or corresponding voice command could be useful in allowing the user to restart the animation loop!

Zoom or detach images/videos from the Step Card
Suggested by Raide n – New – 0 Comments
The Step card can contain images/videos but they are fixed in size and locked to the left of the step card.
Similar to Remote Assist, it would be nice to grab the image to resize it in case there are details which may be too small to read.

Allow in-step 3D object repositioning for QR Code Anchors
Suggested by Shiva Rama Krishna Karthik Addagarla Sri Venkata – New – 0 Comments
Hello Microsoft Dynamics 365 Dev Team,
It would be great to have an option to manually re-adjust the 3D model position once its placed using QR Code anchor.
This feature is quite useful when :
- 3D models are not positioned accurately using QR Code scanning (as placement varies based on users view angle of the QR code).
- QR codes are placed in at an angle or cured surface.
- When model must be placed with high accuracy (less than 5mm tolerance levels) - Users can manually adjust the position by a few millimeters after object is placed using QR code san.
Let me know if I must share any other information regarding this request.
Thank you.

HoloLens 2 app - "Show Outline" - Display task/step numbers in Outline
Suggested by Raide n – New – 0 Comments
While operating Guides containing several tasks and steps, the Outline does not display the task/step number.
If someone says "Go to Task 2, Step 5" the user must gaze and hover while they count down the list and get to step 5 which is unlabeled.
E.G.
Outline:
Task>
Step
Step
Step
Task>
Step
Step
Step
Step
This could be:
task1>
step1
step2
step3
Task2>
step1
step2
step3
step4

Ability to Snap Rotation of 3D Parts to their 90 Deg Orthographic Quadrants
Suggested by Kerwin Kassulker – New – 0 Comments
Hello,
Currently, when Authoring in Guides, and you place a 3D Model (e.g., Holographic Anchoring) ... there is nothing that allows you to snap it to the 90 Deg Quadrants a 3D model has defined when created. e.g., XY, YZ, etc.
It is very tedious, if not impossible at times, to get the model anchored at correct angles... i.e., and you have to "hunt" for the spot using the rotation tools. They should freely rotate, and then "snap into place" at the 90 Deg Quadrants.
I forward a thank you for your consideration!
Best regards,
Kerwin
