Anchor a Hologram across multiple steps.

Suggested by Andrew Guagliardo Completed  3 Comments

We have had success with guides, but we also have use cases where we need to present completely virtual guides, almost exactly like the Demo of Guides. At the moment Guides does not seem to support a hologram maintaining the exact same position / orientation across multiple steps. We currently need to hand place holograms that need to be in the same location across multiple steps and this leads to small inaccuracies over time. It would be very useful to have an option to anchor a given hologram that was placed in a particular step and mark that it should maintain visibility and position / orientation through all future steps until it is marked as no longer needed in another step.

Attach PDF Vendor Schematic / Bill of Material (BOM) Files to Guides

Suggested by John D Miller Completed  1 Comments

Being able to refer to the vendor guides aids in the understanding and troubleshooting of a problem. Currently there is 1 link to a website/file. This will only benefit if the website/link is easy to access and use with a HL. Some Vendors provide manuals in PDF form. Add an option to add a file, PDF, PPT, Word to the HL Guide. When working on a task and a part needs to be replaced, opening the associated Bill of Materials (BOM) with an exploded parts view and part number information will help the technician locate the correct part to order. Then they can link to the ordering system and place the order for the correct part, they will have the BOM in front of them to refer to. Also, sometimes how something works is explained using PPT/Word files, so adding them for a reference would also help when performing a task.

    Guide Theming

Suggested by John Ramirez Completed  0 Comments

Guide templates are graphically limiting and need simple things like background color, font, font color, back texture...to be applied. One of our largest customers refused to use MS guides because the color was blue. We are finding the larger the corporation the more the customers want to change the background color, font and style. When we tell them...blue is it and fonts are locked and all the stuff that exists now...it immediately breaks into well...how much does it cost to build a custom app so they can have what they want. Custom app development is fine if they have the money and time but many do not want to wait that long. Not to mention we would be building a system that would compete with Guides....would MS even allow it? So...please...just add theming.

    Synthetic Text-to-Speech

Suggested by Brent Evans Completed  2 Comments

How about option to have Step text read to user via TTS -- either automatically or on demand. And/or the ability to have TTS that would announce some kind of confirmation as the user initiates a gaze away from the Step card toward the machine to perform the work -- such as "Don't forget both front and back connections need to be made!"

    Search Guides Using QR Code

Suggested by John D Miller Completed  0 Comments

Search for a guide using a guide specific QR Code Generate individual QR code for each guide. Technician can scan the QR code and launch the correct guide. Instead of navigating a folder structure to find the right guide, the technician would scan a QR code for the guide. These can be added to manuals and specifications or a laminate code sheet. QR codes do note need to be large, 1"x1"?

    Voice command to skip step

Suggested by Don Mcnally Completed  1 Comments

It would be handy to say 'next step' to skip step rather than have to stare at the next arrow. Sometimes it can strain your neck and also you can lose where you are while completing task.

QR code to start the correct guide

Suggested by Malcolm Nash Completed  0 Comments

Once we have a large amount of guides, it will be difficult to locate the exact guide for your task. Having QR codes in the room that can be scanned to start the correct guide would be useful, this could also double as the start point. The operator would start guides,m scan the code and then the correct guide will be initiated.

    Animation Controls for Guides

Suggested by Jim Orcherton Completed  0 Comments

Hello. Could you please add the possibility of animation controls when importing FBX or other formats that have animation attached. Or just the simple option to loop or not to loop.
