    Inspection Image File Size (3072 kb) Limitation Improvment

    Hi everybody,


    Our field service employees must fill inspections, which contain the "file" question, to upload images.

    When taking an image directly with the provided button, everything works as expected.

    But when an image gets selected via the file picker, all employees are facing the 3mb (3072kb) file limit and cant upload images from gallery. Nowadays that every smartphone has a 10+ megapixel sensor, most images are 5 to 10 MB.


    It would be great, if the mobile app could compress images selected from gallery if greater than 3MB (or some other solution to upload large images from gallery).


    For online scenarios there is the hidden Field Service setting

    inspection.allowuploadlargefilesonline=true

    to upload larger files.

    But this flags gets ignored with offline profiles.

    Enhance Email Functionality in Work Orders for Field Service

    We have identified a significant gap in the functionality of Microsoft Field Service that we believe, if addressed, would greatly enhance user experience and efficiency. Currently, when creating an email from a work order, the system does not automatically populate the "To' field.

    This feature is available in other tables such as incidents and opportunities, but not in work orders.


    Upon contacting Microsoft Support, we were provided with a script to manually add to our forms, as this functionality is not available out-of-the-box. While this workaround is appreciated, it is not an ideal solution for all users.


    It would be appreciate to have a standard feature that automatically populates the email recipient field with the contact specified in the "Reported By" field, or with the service account if the contact is empty. This enhancement would streamline the process, reduce manual entry errors, and save valuable time for Field Service users.

    Ability to add company logo on Inspection templates

    The standard Inspection template lacks the ability to add a simple logo on the Inspection template. The completed inspection can only be downloaded as pdf, we can't create word templates either. So there's pretty much no way to meet a simple & basic requirement for clients of incorporating their company's logo on the inspections generated from Field Service. This is quite disappointing and a big limitation currently for our clients as well as prospective clients. Dear Microsoft team, could you please add this feature to the standard Inspection template design?

    Display environment name for model driven app in office suite home page.

    Business users go to https://www.microsoft365.com/apps?auth=2&home=1 to access the apps. As the apps have same name in TST/UAT/PREPROD and PROD they could see all the apps and confused to identify the production app from the list. The environment is not available for model-driven apps. The idea is to add the environment name along with App name. The environment is available for Canvas Apps. I have raised a ticket 2403270030006426 with Microsoft support to Investigate this issue.     We require a report on user utilization

    As customer administrators for the CRM module, we must have access to each user's login and logout information with a timestamp in order to calculate the total number of login hours for a specific time period.

    Make the button to expand a Textbox question bigger - so it is more user friendly on mobile devices and tablets

    Currently it is not possible to select how many lines a textbox is in a questionair, there is only the option to make it singleline or multiline. To make it easier to read the contents in the textbox and write something there is currenly a button in the lower right corner to expand the textbox. However this button is very small on a mobile device or tablet which makes it really hard to expand with your fingers. Suggestion would be to make this button a bit bigger so it is easier to make a textbox bigger when you are filling out an inspection from a Tablet or Mobile device.

    Serialized inventory tracking

    This is a quite common and important feedback from the clients. D365 FS currently lacks serialized inventory tracking where the inventory items are expected to track at individual serial number level. Currently, customers are dependent on other 3rd party add-ons for this.

    There is no way to modify the blank white inspection template. As we need to hand out to customer, its necessary that we can implement the company corporate design to the PDF !!!

    Apply the different format for ‘Resource requirement‘ duration

    In custom booking template, we are using this ‘Resource Requirement' duration field. It directly shows as minutes. However when we using  Bookable Resource Booking duration, it can show as hours. Please also apply the different format for ‘Resource requirement‘ duration.

    Alternative to URL whitelisting

    we are sending an sms to few internal stakeholders if a work order is raised. the request from the azure services to the sms service provider platform is through aparticular url. this url has to be whitelisted on the sms service provider platform in order to provide response. the sms provider doest want to whitelist the url and instead asking for ip addresses. but we are coming to know that the ip address from where the request comes will be changin on a periodic basis. so its kind of a dead end of the road and we werent able to do anything. the only solution was to put a VM and host the api in vm and the request is sent from the vm to the sms service provider platform. the ip address from VM would be static. this VM is an additional cost to us which can be prevented. we need a solution for this without the VM.
