Make Address Suggestions Available in Custom Tables

Suggested by Eric Hula New  0 Comments

Based on the documentation, the address suggestions only work on Account, Work Order and Booking. Please make this available as a standard control that can be added onto any custom form or custom tables. Ideally, this would work for any table that has address fields.

Currently working around this with a custom control leveraging Bing Autosuggest API.

    Enable Address Suggestions:

Address recommendations on account, work order, and booking forms let you quickly enter addresses. Recommendations help ensure accuracy and reduce errors. You can enable address recommendations in the settings. Address recommendations are for use on account, work order, and booking forms. It's not available for customization or use on other forms and is hidden during form editing.

Change default search operator from "Equals" to "Contains"

Suggested by Emily Cai New  7 Comments

    Hi team,

The default search operator on the list view is “Equals”. There are lots of complains from end user about this, they need to change the operator to “Contains” manually since they can’t enter the whole information to search for most of the time.

Get information from MS support team, this couldn’t be changed currently. Please help to consider the feature for default search operator configuration function.

Multiple resource requirements - allow other resources in scheduler when resources requirements are booked

Suggested by Jeff Fuller New  0 Comments

    Hi,

We use the booking system to book Specialized staff (7 different types) into specialized or specific category of room (8 different types). We also have additional resources that can be booked - such as cars, special equipment that may be required..

This is on the Service Activity entity. When trying to set-up a multiple requirement for a type of service, we were able to add the requirement to have a 'specialist' type of user resource, and a 'specialist' type of room. Perfect..

When the activity is created, and we click book, the scheduler view comes up with all the combinations of staff and room - combined into one line, for each potential time..

    Person1, Room1

    Person1, Room2

    Person1, Room5

    Person2, Room1

    Person2, Room2

    Person2, Room5

    Etc.

This is PERFECT! It didn't work properly before, but it seems like it's fixed in that regard.. When you book that combination, then it adds a booking for each resource- ALSO PERFECT! Now I also want to book some special equipment or a car on that same booking, when we click on Book, it shows those same original combinations of staff and room...Not anything else.. What we would like is to be able to ADD other things to the booking. As it is now, if we have the multiple resources are specified, then the scheduler always has just those..

We tried making something Optional as a requirement but that would do ALL variations.. even if they are optional..

    Person1, Room1, Car1

    Person1, Room2, Car1

    Person1, Room5, Car1

    Person1, Room1, Car2

    Person1, Room2, Car2

    Person1, Room5, Car2

    Person2, Room1, Car1

    Person2, Room2, Car1

    Person2, Room5, Car1....

(plus one row for each TIME available -depending on settings..) With all the combinations, it's very slow, and not friendly at all to use. especially if the other options aren't needed..

If we have multiple resources required on a service type, and if the requirements are filled/booked.(I.E. user type and room type) we would like to show the normal scheduler as if there were no requirements.

    Thanks

    Make Inspections a generic capability

Suggested by Pavan Kumar New  0 Comments

    Hi Team,

Since Inspections is such a useful feature why tie it up only to field service ? This is a common scenario to have Questionnaire to be filled up for

    1. Case
    2. What are the steps followed (captured in KB) and capturing the answers
    3. Conditional Health questions ( if case is a for a hospital)
    4. CheckList for the CSA ( templated) to fix the issue (KB is more documentation based but not a checklist)
    5. Sales
    6. Checklist to be completed and conditional information to be captured before accepting an opportunity as Account
    7. XRM situations
    8. Enquiry questions etc.

Applications are countless. Though Customer voice is there , It is primarily designed to capture responses from external customers ( missing capabilities as lookups etc.) not relevant for System Users of dynamics. Hope this taken into consideration

Adding Time Display when Dragging & Dropping Bookings on New Field Service Schedule Board

Suggested by Daniël Koning New  0 Comments

After working for 3 years with the old Field Service Schedule Board, my client is trying out the new schedule board. During testing, my client encountered one major barrier in the adoption of the new tool. In the old version of the schedule board, whenever you would drag and drop a booking, the start time associated with the booking in regards to where it would be released from the drag and drop action would be displayed as you moved it around.

In the new version of the schedule board, this time display seems to be missing during the drag and drop process. It's a small detail, but this feature seems to be a must for my clients, especially when managing bookings in a compact weekly view for over 100 resources.

The absence of this feature in the new version does feel a bit inconvenient, as it requires an extra step to check the timing before finalizing the placement of the booking.

My proposed idea is to reintroduce the display of time when dragging and dropping bookings around the schedule board, similar to the old version.

Apply "normal rounding" rules to Bookings percentage view in Schedule Board: 9,80% is shown as 9% not 10% !!!

Suggested by Sune Andersen New  0 Comments

Our resource planner, when planning the allocations for their team, use the percentage option. On some allocations, they are requested to book a specific percentage of a resource’s availability, e.g. allocations of admin projects.

In order to ensure that the percentage is showed correctly they need to make the allocation precise down to minutes. If even one minute off, the percentage will round down, and the percentage reflected will be lower than it actually is.

The recent (2023H1) changing of the rounding rule introduces an high level of precision required from the planners, as it leaves no margin for the resource planners. They need to get, the allocations right down to the number of minutes precisely with was not the case before.

A booking of 9.83%, is shown as 9% in the Schedule Board and not 10%. In order to show 10%, the resource planner will need to manually adjust all bookings across multiple months down to the minute - a very time-consuming task for the resource planners.

This level of precise does not provide the additional value compared to the time that the resource planner needs to spend adjusting the board to show the desired percentage. From a business perspective the new rounding rules on percentage does not make sense.

    Request

We would like the rounding as prior to the change; Where the rounding follows standard mathematical principles, hence rounding down if the digits are below 0.5 and up if equal to or above 0.5.

In case the product team wants to keep the newly introduction rules of rounding as-is, would alternative solutions be offered to accommodate the users, e.g.:

    • Customization options in settings on rounding principles
    • Showing digits on the percentage

Allow Personal Views to download on Field Service Mobile App in Offline Mode

Suggested by Vicki Belding New  1 Comments

Users were previously able to look at personal views on the field service mobile app. They did sometimes have to log out & back in to see them, but now they are no longer supported in offline mode. We have a client that every single one of their mobile techs build personal views for their bookings and it's not reasonable to build that many system views because then everyone has to scroll through the long list. This is important functionality that has been removed from the application and a disadvantage of the field service mobile app.

URS support for biweekly working hours patterns

Suggested by Chris Haley New  1 Comments

We have a client who regularly provides for bi-weekly working patterns for their employees,

The simplest example would be 'I don't work every second Friday' but could have much more complex patterns that repeat every two weeks.

It is a tedious manual task to configure this type of pattern because the working hours setup for a bookable resource only supports weekly rules.

Please could you add support for biweekly patterns.

Manually create Bookings should inherit duration from Work Order

Suggested by Danny Wieder New  0 Comments

Oftentimes you have to create a booking manually from the workorder without going through the schedule board or assistant. The typical use case is where a 3rd party performs the work. They assign their techs on their own system and then just tell you the resource and date. To see these on the scheduler you have to create a booking manually from the WO.

When doing so the WO's total estimated duration does not get inherited by teh booking and so you have to enter it manually. It is also not possible to configure this easily as a mapped field.

This behaviour should change so that the Booking inherits the duration from the work order as it does elsewhere.
