    Duration and Hours is cleared in WBS after opening WBS in Microsoft Project

    Hi Team,

    We reported the issue as "Duration and Hours are cleared in WBS after opening WBS in Microsoft Project" from a partner/customer, and there is a work item 623555 for this reported issue from PG, where the team suggested applying the same work item and using the workaround provided to us - "User can manually fix it or do the resource assignment in FnO.".

     

    Customer wants a permanent fix in future versions; please look into this in future versions and help customers in getting a permanent resolution.

    Missing timesheet email - Option for batch jobs

    Period type is Week with auto-split in case of month end. Week starts on Monday. Saturday and Sunday are not working days as per the calendar attached to the project resources. 


    Missing timesheet notification should not be sent if the period includes non-working days. 


    Example: There are cases, in which a period contains non-working days only. example: Saturday-Sunday, e.g. April 1- April 2, 2023. 

    Since these are non-working days, the users should not receive a missing timesheet email. Currently, it seems that this cannot be avoided.

    Missing timesheet email - Month-end batch job

    Period type is Week with auto-split in case of month end. Week starts on Monday. 

    Missing timesheet notification should be sent on weekly basis but also needs to cater for month-end. 


    Since timesheets need to be submitted on weekly basis, the missing timesheet email batch is scheduled to run in recurrence that includes each Monday. 


    However, since month-end can be in the middle of the week, missing timesheet notifications need to be scheduled to run also on the first day after the month-end. 


    Example: Jan 31, 2023, is Wednesday. There will be two timesheet periods: for week 5: Jan 30 - Jan 31, 2023, and Feb 1 - Feb 5, 2023.


    Missing timesheet mail notification should be received on Thursday (Feb 1, 2023). The batch job cannot be set with recurrence per weekday, since month-end will be in different weekdays. The option "repeat a specific weekday" by a fixed interval cannot be used, since it also requires a weekday to be chosen.

    Project Quotation lines does not have option to add maintain charges

    We have received SR with reported issue - "Project Quotation lines does not have option to add maintain charges".

    Presently customer is not able to find the field “Maintenance charges” field under lines while updating.

    we did prepare repro document and uploaded with PG channel, we got PG team update as -This is not supported functionality. They can log a suggestion in the Ideas portal”.

    could you please consider this issue and help customer/partner to have option to update Maintenance charges in project quotation lines. it will help them to add required charges and post accordingly.

    Project funding source data entity error messages could be more helpful

    The "Project funding source" data entity (staging table ProjFundingSourceStaging) seems to require the "PartyNumber" field populating, reporting the error message below when a DMF import project does not include a value:

     

    "Results. The party ID specified does not exist. Results. validateWrite failed on data source 'ProjFundingSource (ProjFundingSource)'"

     

    But then for records where the "FundingType" field is "Customer", it doesn't use that "PartyNumber" field for the customer lookup, but instead uses the "CustomerOrganization" field. I appreciate the validateWrite method above is on the ProjFundingSource table which will be reached through code paths other than the data entity, but I believe that just means the data entity/DMF should handle the scenario earlier, i.e. by using the Party ID for the customer.


    Demonstration process:

    1. Ensure you have two customers, and identify their customer number & party number
    2. Ensure you have a project contract created
    3. Create a DMF input file for the Project funding source data entity specifying the project contract above & the customer number for one customer in the CustomerOrganization field and the party number for the other customer in PartyNumber
    4. Import through DMF
    5. Review the project contract
    6. Observe that the funding source added has used the CustomerOrganization field for the associated customer
    7. Create a copy of DMF input file, modifying it by removing the PartyNumber and changing the FundingSourceID
    8. Import through DMF
    9. Observe error The party ID specified does not exist. even though DMF isn’t going to use the party ID in question

    The beginning balance journal created from journals doesn't appear in the specific project beginning balance journal

    When you create a beginning balance journal from: Project management and accounting -> Journals-> Beginning balance then create a transaction for a specific project. Then go check on beginning balance for that project, the created project is not retrieved:

    Project management and accounting->Projects->All Projects the journal doesn't' appear.

    If you do the same test with fee, hour our expense journal the journal is also shown on the specific project.


    • What is the business impact to the customer?

    The analysis of the project can be mistaken as we do not find a beginning balancing journal created on the project

    The manager on charge of the project will not have access to the migration journal with all the projects inside

     

    • How does the problem impact their business? Financials

    It concerns 80% of the business – Fixed price

    Upon theses analysis, we decide if the project is profitable or not and change the pricing

     

    • How frequently does this issue occur? -

    Once for migration.

     but impact for all time for the history of the project

     

    • Is there a workaround? –

    No, checking by each journal is not allowed to the manager and they have to find the right journal

    Just for one company, we had 10 journals with 1500 lines

     

    • How many users are affected by this issue? –

    Option to either include the project cost when the PO is invoiced Or Received

    When raising a PO from a project, the cost of the PO is not included in the project estimation until the PO has been invoiced.


    We would like a way to allow users to select when, the project cost is included, in the estimation.

    The setting would allow the PO cost to be included when the PO is invoice OR when the PO is received.


    When the PO is received, the cost appears in the P&L however this is not reflected in the project yet. We can have the cost tagged, as committed cost when the PO is received, but its not included in the estimation calculation.

    Customizability in time entry

    If we can display columns in which only projects and tasks are entered in advance in the display by time entry, it will be quite convenient and work efficiency will increase.

    The user must create a new line with a new button each time the effort entry is entered. We think that it is necessary to customize the list screen of PJs and tasks assigned to users by default, and allow users to enter man-hours on that screen.
