    • It has been identified as a by-design behavior.

Create Vendor Payment Proposal process improvement

Suggested by Alina Ciocoiu New  0 Comments

Following the process under https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/finance/accounts-payable/create-vendor-payments-payment-proposal manual or by using Process Automation:

    • If Check Vendor balances is checked – the Balance on the Vendor as displayed under Vendor Balance is the one the system validates against and not based on other transaction criteria/selections
    • As long as the Vendor has a Credit Balance, no payment is created
    • In terms of Credit Balance – this will mean credit memos, or payments that have been posted but haven't been settled yet. The system will take those into account until they are settled.

From a business process perspective the following changes will add more value to the process:

    • The scenario of receiving a credit note paid back which you just put on Vendor, but not settle the real invoice should also be handled by the Payment proposal process
    • For a company, where most of the invoices are approved very late, you have to remove all the lines that are coming in the payment proposal manually.
    • The validation not to be made at Vendor balance level, but at Payment proposal Level, by adding an extra control, if the sum of lines for each vendor account is positive, the lines should be erased

By that you should get much better functionality and not need to work as much with credit notes.

Idea raised on behalf of customer Fujitsu.

    Thank you!

Automatic User Disablement upon Employee Termination

Suggested by DOGAN ADIYAMAN New  0 Comments

Currently, when an employee is terminated in the Human Resources module of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, the associated system user account is not automatically disabled. This creates a compliance and security risk, as terminated employees may still retain active access to the system.

    Suggested Improvement:

Introduce functionality so that when an employee is terminated in HR, their corresponding D365FO user account is automatically disabled. This would align HR actions with system security, reduce manual administration, and strengthen compliance (e.g., SOX, internal controls).

    Sales & Purchase Returns

Suggested by Umang Pandya New  0 Comments

When having a sales or purchase returns, we normally create new sales or purchase order with negative quantity, instead if we can add a tab on sales or purchase order, which will be active even after invoicing, then we can use that tab to return the item, so that it is easily traceable and no need to create another sales or purchase order to return the item.

    F&O Screen Pop-Up Option

Suggested by Garrett Johnson New  0 Comments

Could we create a full screen pop up option to review invoices, pay applications and expense statements. The current window is too small and would be great to have an option to go full screen to review in detail before we approve all of these important documents.

Italy - VAT Declaration XML (IT)

Suggested by Graeme Futter New  0 Comments

As the Italian version of the sales tax report is being deprecated and therefore we lose the ability to export the report in XML it would be helpful for Microsoft to develop the VAT Declaration for Italy in XML format as well as the already available PDF option.

Ability to enter GRN after invoice during PO processing/3 way match.

Require the ability to generate invoice first, then generate product receipt, then have the match product receipt functionality to initialize on the created invoice. Currently, when the product receipt is generated after the invoice, this does not initialize on the invoice.

Allow Different Legal Entities on Purchase Order Lines and Accounting Distributions

Suggested by Steve Latta New  0 Comments

In many businesses, each physical location will be set up in D365 as a separate legal entity. There needs to be a method by which a centralized purchasing agency (at the headquarters, for example) can create a Purchase Order and then on the PO Lines, specify per line which legal entity the accounting (expense) needs to be posted to in General Ledger. This should be possible via two methods:

    • Switching a PO line to a different legal entity switches Item Numbers and Product Categories available to those of the target entity, driving the correct GL and inventory posting. This allows centralized purchasing of both stocked and non-stocked items.
    • Using Distribute Amounts to ONLY modify the accounting posting allows posting to different legal entity. This should only be allowed on non-stocked items, so that inventory cannot be posted to one entity while accounting posts to a different one. This would also allow accounting, by individual line, to be split across multiple legal entities by percentages.

In AP, it is possible on invoice journal invoices to make the Company field available on lines and the system automatically switches to the target company's account structure and chart of accounts, and assuming intercompany accounting is set up correctly, the system will automatically post the needed due to/from intercompany transactions. This is basically to add similar functionality to invoices created through purchase orders.
