Transfer named ressources from a project template to the generated project

Suggested by Jakob Rabl New  0 Comments

When using the function "msdyn_CopyProjectV3" as described here:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/project-operations/project-management/dev-copy-project#copy-project-custom-action

there is the problem that the parameters "ReplaceNamedResources" and ClearTeamsAndAssignments cannot be assigned "No" at the same time. This would lead to the fact that a named resource from a Project Template is taken over into the project created from it.

A use case for this would be to define a named resource in a template that is responsible for automating the approval of time bookings in projects. This would be especially helpful for smaller companies that do not need an approval workflow for project time bookings.

Augment credit note functionality for project accounting to include credit for rebill

Suggested by Patrick Sheehan Jr New  0 Comments

Often, project invoices are required to be credited with the intent to rebill underlying project transactions. The correcting invoice(s) may be split up to meet customer requirements or amounts may be adjusted.

Credit notes add credit transactions to the affected projects but there is no provision to insert duplicate transaction lines included on the original invoice or otherwise reset those lines to be available for invoice proposals.

The credit for rebill process would create a credit note to reverse the original invoice to adjust accounts receivable with a summary offset entry to each project affected. It would then reset status for those transactions included on the invoice to make them available for invoice proposal. A new journal may be required to provide an audit trail documenting the updated transactions by credit/rebill voucher, original invoice number and credit-note number.

    Calendar's view

Suggested by Antonia Valkova New  0 Comments

    Description of request:

Customer would like to be able to change the calendar's view in the system.

For now there is no setting/feature/option in the system for changing or customizing the calendar's view and it's possible only to see specific dates and years.

Customer's request is to have the opportunity to see week number too. As this would be more efficient for their work process.

Dynamics 365 Projects customer billing wizard templates

Suggested by Francisco Orozco New  0 Comments

Wish there is an option to easily maintain template wizards and easily associate to end users (e.g. tools options), for purpose to easy entry process and keep master records data entry as best uniform as possible. (e.g. billing with customer-vendor external description, employee name and role, project investment graph of completion, legal entity item descriptions, billing along with budgeting comparisons, planning revisions inclusions, project replacements, customer preferred invoice layout templates, etc...). Not featuring template wizards to master records, for purpose to maintain as best uniform data entry as possible, with a guided assistant wizard, end user might potentially use conventional form technical features (e.g. skip, hide, show, rename, etc...) rather then featuring an assisted guided wizards with option to include (guidelines questions). Featuring easy composure of template wizards and easy association to master records, user (e.g. training end user, basic user) might potentially have additional tools when becoming medium or advanced user, may better assist projects, system administrator, CFO, and potential better assist or speed master record (e.g. project billing, project planning, project budgeting, project billing) creation.

Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, doesn't give the option to generate separate invoice proposal for same contract ID which is linked with Multiple projects

Suggested by Huda Hayat New  0 Comments

Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, doesn't give the option to generate separate invoice proposal for same contract ID which is linked with Multiple projects using Periodic task (Project management and accountant>Periodic>Project invoices>Create project tax invoice proposal. If there are 100 projects linked to same contracts system only creates 1 combined tax invoice proposal. Currently the only option to do so via periodic is to enter the project number in filter. For 100 projects this needs to be 100 times.

Dynamics 365 Finance Project management Vendor retention percentage

Suggested by Francisco Orozco New  0 Comments

Wish there is future option to set project retention per vendor account, for purpose to set various vendor project retention percentages from a project instead and/or in addition to standard project retention required by vendors. Not featuring project retention by vendor, user might potentially only have access to the current conditions of the the project required vendor retention.

Enable Standalone Vendor Credit Note Posting in Project Operations Without Linked Vendor Invoice Lines.

Suggested by Harinath Bandaru New  1 Comments

Customers frequently encounter business scenarios where vendor credit notes are issued independently of any previously posted vendor invoice. Currently, Project Operations does not support posting such standalone credit notes, creating a gap in functionality compared to Finance & Operations (F&O), where users can create Purchase Orders (POs) with negative quantities or unit prices to handle these cases.

This limitation prevents customers from accurately reflecting vendor account updates and project-related financials when no invoice line exists. The inability to post standalone credit notes in Project Operations disrupts synchronization with F&O and hinders compliance with financial and project tracking requirements.

We propose enhancing Project Operations to allow posting vendor credit notes directly against projects, even when no linked vendor invoice line exists. This would ensure seamless integration with F&O, support accurate vendor account management, and accommodate real-world subcontracting and procurement workflows.

Adding a Billing Type field to the Schedule Board so that users can specify the billing type when booking a resource

Suggested by Vu Ly New  0 Comments

Suggestion: Please consider adding or allowing users to edit the schedule board and add Billing Type field which billable/ non-billable choice is available when booking a resource since one resource might be billable this month but non-billable next month (which project team can't control).

This selection would then be saved to the BookableResourceBooking or BookableResourceBookingHeader table,

together with other booking information such as: Resource, Start Date, End Date, Booking Method, etc.

"Activity number” and “project category” fields are not filled in Projects > Work Breakdown Structure

Suggested by Turgay Kayaer New  0 Comments

In the Projects > Work Breakdown Structure form, when we add new tasks, system is generating the "Activity number" but it is not displaying in the Work Breakdown Structure form.

When we clicked "edit" or "publish" button, it is disappearing.

The same issue is occured for the "Project Category" field. Although, we defined the Project Category, it is also disappeared as "Activity number"

1- Those 2 fields can be used to make definitions and link to another functionality (such as, fee journal lines)

2- It generates the "Activity number" in the related table, then why it can not be shown in the Work Breakdown Structure.

3- When we asked Microsoft experts, they proposed to make customizations. Do we really need customizations for the already existing fields?

    Best regards,

    Turgay Kayaer
