Improvement on the Project adjustment process

Suggested by Souvik Adhikary Planned  0 Comments

When hour transactions or time sheet transactions for a project is adjusted and distributed equally to multiple projects then the process is getting timed out. There is no batch job for this process as well.

Currently the recommendation is to adjust with smaller number of transactions at one time.

The expection here is when hour transactions or time sheet transactions for a project is adjusted with more number of lines then the process should get completed in a timely manner.

    Backdated rate adjustment

Suggested by Brian Charbine Planned  0 Comments

There is no ability to apply backdated rate adjustment for a cost and sell price list in the event that cost or sell rate adjustments are required. Having this feature in Ops will avoid the need to customise and adjust the price list accrodingly.

Ability to easily move multiple bookings when a task or multiple tasks get moved out on the timeline

Suggested by Mark Weilandt Planned  1 Comments

Currently, there are two ways to move a booking. One is from the schedule board and another is to edit the booking record. When a project record is staffed at the beginning of the project, bookings are created for potentially the next 6 months for multiple resources. If the project schedule slips one or two weeks one month into the project, all of those future bookings will need to move out to keep maintain the accuracy of the availability of the resource on the project. Could you create functionality to accomplish this? On the Schedule tab for a Project, there is a "Move Project" button which will reschedule all the tasks but it moves every task. Could it be modified to move future tasks and could it then move the bookings associated with those tasks?

Allow baselining and snapshotting of projects

Suggested by Matt Johnson Planned  4 Comments

Almost any project manager would like to see how their project looked at the beginning compared to how it actually ended up. Please allow us to take a snapshot of the project and give tools to compare with the current or other snapshots. This would allow for baselining which would help with forecasting, revenue calculations and overspend.

Open up Resource Assignments for contour changes on Project entity's Resource Assignments tab

Suggested by Antti Pajunen Planned  1 Comments

At the moment changes to RA contours are locked due to Project for the web. Changes to RA contours are mission critical so that project managers are able to align bookings (Bookable Resource Bookings) and task assignments (Resource Assignments). When RA contour changes are locked, there is nearly always a discrepancy in RAs and BRBs, when looking at a Project Team Member and a PTM's bookings vs. assignments.

Project Budget Balances as Power BI Report

Suggested by Jaqui Hoyle Planned  1 Comments

Project Budget Balances report is very useful detailing Actual (Consumed and Committed) v Budget (Approved and Unapproved) however it only provides information for one project structure and even then it is limited in that you have to click on each sub-project to show the actual v budget against that sub-project All customers I have spoken with require Project Budget Balances to be made available for more than one project, preferably as a BI report as there is no Standard D365FO report which can do this. The benefit of having Project Budget Balances as a BI report allows project related team members and finance team members to have full real time visibility of projects they are looking after in one place across entities with all required financial information against budget.

Invoice partners in an Investment project

Suggested by Robert Rudd Planned  0 Comments

As a Finance Manager, I want to be able invoice partners who part fund an investment project i.e. landlord part funds a fitout of a new office so that the true cost of the investment is recorded.

This would allow an investment project to invoice a customer.  The customer would reduce the cost the investment thus allowing only this portion of the investment to be estimated or capitalised.

Add activity to project fee budgets and actuals

Suggested by David Simon Planned  0 Comments

Project-centric organizations like ours budget project fees down to the activity level and have actual fee transactions down to the activity level as well.  The project WBS screen allows fees to be added to activities, but it doesn't currently go past the WBS.  Any project budget or actuals is without an activity reference.  To overcome this shortcoming... we have had to customize the system.  It seems that it would be minimal effort to extend activities to fee transactions.  Any project-based professional services organization would appreciate this added detail for sure.

Automatic Product Receipt generation in PO Contractors once the Timesheet is posted

Suggested by ELENA SANZ MARTINEZ Planned  2 Comments

Contractors for projects will submit their timesheets and once they are approved and posted, a receipt will be automatically generated in the PO related to that particular contractor. Then, when the invoice comes in, there will be a matching between the time that has been approved for that contractor and the invoice that the business receive for that service. Therefore, there the invoice will match not only the product receipts accrued but also the time that has been approved, and the costs will be allocated to each project precisely. Additionally, if the contractor rate is set as zero, the timesheet will not create any entry in ledger and project, so the cost will be allocated only once with the invoice, avoiding the cost duplication.
