As the threshold discount for free items, It's limited about same item between list for sale and list for free.
Buy A +B+C+D+F from category > 300 usd and Free items A or B from catefory

Thanks for the feature suggestion. This feature ask can be interpreted as when buying certain quantity of qualified items, getting certain discount on gift items. We support such "gift with purchase" scenario in threshold discount where the qualification criteria is based on amount. To fulfill your requirement, we will need to enable "gift with purchase" scenario in quantity discount where qualification criteria is based on quantity. This has been logged into our feature backlog. We need some more details to understand your suggestion better. Can you please help us by answering the following questions?
Each discount allows you to set the Validity dates, so you could put the start date as a future date. But you can test the discount set up using the Price simulator by choosing a future date. If your concern is primarily related to the new products which are being added to the retail product hierarchy. Then, you add these new products to the release product hierarchy anytime, but add them to a new assortment that becomes active on a future date. This way the cashiers will not be able to search for these products, but you can still create a promotion for these products since they are released to the legal entity. If you don't want to create a new assortment, then you can wait till the actual day to add these to the existing assortment, but still the discount set up completed in advance would kick in on the specified day.
