    Enable Read-Only Custom Fields in Project - Grid View

    Currently, custom columns added to the Project - Grid view are fully editable.


    Customers have expressed the need for greater control over these fields. Specifically, they would like the ability to configure certain custom columns as read-only, to prevent unintended edits and maintain data integrity.


    Proposed Enhancement:

    Introduce a setting or property that allows administrators to mark specific custom fields in the Grid view as read-only. This would improve governance and support use cases where data should be visible but not editable by end users.

    Managers are not able to submit TS for their team members if the TS have been created by the Team members themselves. They do not have the ‘All Timesheet’ menu item in their security role (as it requires Operations license) and the ‘My timsheet’ only shows the TS they have created (either for themselves or their team).

    Question is " if the TS has been created by my team member, then can i use this duty to submit the timesheet Or not ?"

    Customer is having following query can aby one help on this :

     

    Requirement

    Currently Aptia TS Managers have the following functions in the business

    • Approve TS
    • Create TS on behalf ( they are setup as delegate)
    • Submit TS for their team, even if TS is created by the member themselves.
    • They currently have Team member license in the system

     

    Problem Statement: Managers are not able to submit TS for their team members if the TS have been created by the Team members themselves. They do not have the ‘All Timesheet’ menu item in their security role (as it requires Operations license) and the ‘My timsheet’ only shows the TS they have created (either for themselves or their team).

     

    Design Query

    We want to create a customise view where Managers (Delegates) can see the TS of all their team members and be able to submit for workflow (if Team forgot to submit say during month end) under their existing team member role.

     

     

    Looking at the highlighted section, I appears that ProjTimesheetDelegate Duty and Privilege should also with Submit for Workflow.

     

    We therefore want to be certain that is the case before we develop this new Manager view as we don’t want to change the licensing implications here.

    Repro steps:

     

    Switch Entity :INMF


    Go to Project management and accounting>>Set up>>Line properties>>Line properties.


    Click on New>> name(Billable). Click on Save and close the form.


    Go to set up>>categories>>Category groups. 

     

    Click on New>> category group(Item-Group), Transaction type(Item), Line property billable. Click on save and close.


    Go to set up>> categories>>Project categories>>select category id(Carrental item), category group(Item grp). Click on save and close the form.

     

    Go to Set up>>Posting>>Ledger posting set up.


    Click on new>>select(Cost accounts)>>Select Cost -item. Select any Maina ccount. Click on save.


    Select Revenue accounts>>Ledger account types(Invoiced revenue). Update any account. Click on save and close the form.


    Go to set up>>posting>>Posting groups.


    Click on new>>Project Group(T&M Grp), Project type(Time and Material), Default line property(Billable). Click on save and close the form. 

    Go to Projects>>Project contract>>Name(test Contract), Funding source(INMF-000001), Currency:EUR Click on ok.

     

    Click on save and close the form.

     

    Go to All projects>>Projects>>click on new>>Project type(Time and material), Project Group(Test Grp), customer(INMF-000001). Click on ok.


    Click on Manage>>Item tasks>>Sales order.


    Storage dimensions>>site(Site 1), Ware house(11). click on ok.


    Select Item number(1104). Line details( Project)Category(Carrental-Item), Project id(INMF-00001). Click on save. 

    Click on Tax information. Select HSN code(0409000). Click on ok.


    Click on Tax document. Observed tax calculated.

     

    Select Pick and Pack>> Packing slip posting >>Quantity(All). Click on ok.


     

    Go to Project management and accounting>>select Project(INMF-000001). Click on Hyper link. Click on Manage>>click on Invoice proposal.


    Select Transaction types>> check box enable>> Sales order line(All). Click on ok.


    Click on search>>select the check box. Click on ok.


    Click on post. Click on ok. 


    Go to Invoice journal>>Check voucher transaction details , noted down value INR values and EUR values


    Go to Invoice Journal >>View >>Original


    Actual Results :

    Provide ability to identify resource associated with an expense line - eg centralized travel booking

    In some organizations, certain expenses, such as airfare, conference fees, etc. are booked by a centralized administrator using a corporate credit card.


    Considering the Credit Card import process, it would be valuable to be able to identify a specific bookable resource for each line in the created expense report to provide clarity on which resources particular expenses truly belong to, rather than the administrator that manages the credit card.

    Improve expense reporting in Project actuals when using full expense deployment

    When using Project Operations for resource/non-stocked based scenarios with the Full Expense deployment (ie, Expense management in D365FO), when expense transactions are created in the Actuals table via the Dual Write map, the actual lines do not have the bookable resource identified.


    Without this information, project managers find invoice creation difficult, as the data is unclear on who the expense is related to. By having the bookable resource identified, the invoicing process would be improved.

    Update project date from header to lines on Project Quotation

    I have created a project quotation with 100 lines and want to update the estimated project start date on header level. The value is now 1-5-2025, but that date is in te past and I want to set it to 1-6-2025.

    On line level the project date is set to 1-5-2025, but when I try to change the date on the header to 1-6-2025, an error message is thrown: Estimated start date cannot be later than the project date on the quotation lines

    I don't see any way to update multiple lines tot the new date, so I have to change the date on all 100 lines line by line...


    My suggestion: if you change the estimated project start date on header level, show a pop-up to trigger an "update to all lines" to change the project date
