Suggesting a Streamlined Migration Tool for Dynamics 365 – Partnering with Apps4Rent

Suggested by Alex Groft New  0 Comments

As more businesses look to adopt or expand their use of Dynamics 365, the need for seamless, secure, and cost-effective migration tools has become more urgent. One of the challenges many organizations face is migrating data from legacy systems or alternative CRMs into Dynamics 365 without disrupting ongoing operations.

I’d like to suggest the development of a built-in or certified migration assistant within Dynamics 365—ideally one that supports smooth data transfer for email, contacts, leads, and custom entities, with minimal downtime and zero data loss.

In our experience, working with partners like Apps4Rent has made this process much more manageable. They offer expert-led Dynamics 365 migration services, handling everything from tenant setup to data mapping, user training, and post-migration support. Their involvement helps businesses save time and resources while ensuring a successful transition to the Microsoft ecosystem.

A tighter integration between Dynamics 365 and trusted migration partners like Apps4Rent—or even a co-developed tool—could greatly enhance the adoption experience for new users.

I’d love to hear if others have had similar experiences or see value in this kind of enhancement for the Dynamics 365 platform.

    Environment update notifications

Suggested by Kenny Tang (WICLOUD CORPORATION) New  1 Comments

Dynamics 365 environments are typically updated every weekend. However, to ensure optimal performance and address critical issues, there are times when updates are rolled out mid-week. These updates are executed automatically, without prior notifications to users.

While this approach ensures that the system remains up to date, it can sometimes lead to confusion. Users might notice changes in application behavior, deprecated features, or even new functionalities without any prior warning.

To enhance user experience and minimize disruptions, it would be incredibly beneficial to provide notifications about the timing of these updates and the changes they bring. This proactive communication can help users prepare for the changes, adjust their systems accordingly, and effectively communicate with their teams. Additionally, it aids in troubleshooting any issues that may arise due to the updates, ensuring a smoother transition and continued productivity.

Handling Complex Expressions with Roll-up Query UI

Suggested by Fahmeeda Yaseen New  0 Comments

Handling complex expressions can be challenging, especially since there is no out-of-the-box (OOB) UI available to manage them effectively. For scenarios where complex expressions need to be implemented and might require frequent changes, I recommend using the Roll-up Query UI.

    Why use Roll-up Query?

    • Configuration Made Simple: The Roll-up Query UI allows you to configure complex expressions without custom coding or Power Automate.
    • Fetch XML Saved in Dataverse: Microsoft stores the Fetch XML for each expression directly in Dataverse. This means you don’t have to create your own Fetch XML manually.
    • Dynamic Data Validation: You can use the saved Fetch XML, pass IDs dynamically, and validate your data efficiently.

This is a highly effective solution compared to hardcoding conditions in your code or Power Automate. It simplifies the process and improves maintainability.

Let me know if you need further details or assistance with implementation.

    Thanks!

Integration between Power page and Microsoft teams

Amount of record viewable should be able to personalize without additional settings

The default setting of the power app should be pagination instead of infinite scrolling so that we can have our personalization view working without the need of further configuration.

Allow to configure dynamics Portal using root custom domain.

Suggested by Alexandre Sene New  0 Comments

The Dynamics customer self-service portal allows you to configure a custom domain, for example: www.mydomain.com

But the "www" is seen by DNS as a CNAME.

Nowadays it is normal to use only https://mydomain.com for website and it is exactly at this moment that the Dynamics portal does not allow configuration.

I tried several third-party DNS, including Cloudflare, I also tried Microsoft 365 DNS but I was unable to configure it using only the root: http://Mydomain.com.

Please consider allowing the dynamics portal in powerpages to be configured with custom domain root as well.

I want the Dynamics 365 Guides PC app to be able to display and manage guides by department

Suggested by Sakura Kabata New  0 Comments

With the Dynamics 365 Guides PC app, you can only manage guides by environment.

Adding a function that allows you to display and manage guides not only by environment but also by department would lead to improved convenience for users.
