Partial settlement should be enabled, if there is a cross-year ledger settlement but only in already closed accounting years (advanced awareness option was enabled before closing the previous accounting year).
Suggested by Justyna Luczak – Rejected – 0 Comments
New validation was implemented (by hotfix ID 1025443) to ensure that no cross-year ledger settlements exist before enabling the "Partial ledger settlement" GL parameter. It should prevent problems with out-of-balance error during the year-end close.
This validation makes sense only when the "advanced awareness option" is enabled in the current - open - fiscal year, which may have transactions settled with transactions from previous years and the customer wants to enable "Partial ledger settlements" in the next step. In this scenario, validation should block enabling "Partial settlement" because once partial settlement is enabled, "Enable advanced awareness options" (GL parameter) will be permanently enabled. And cross-year ledger settlements are impossible to reverse when "Enable advanced awareness options" GL parameter is enabled. If cross-year ledger settlements are kept, they will cause an out-of-balance error during the year-end close. It will be hard for the customer to mitigate the issue in this situation.
However, if "advanced awareness options" was enabled before closing the previous year, the cross-year settlement reversal for that year was performed and year was closed correctly. According to documentation, ledger transactions that are settled across fiscal years could remain settled if they weren't settled against a transaction that was posted into year that's being closed.
Therefore, there should be no problem with the year-end closing process in the current year, which was open with enabled "advanced awareness options" and without any cross-year settlements, even if partial settlements were enabled.

Allow updating Financial Dimension value within Account Structure rows if identical branch nodes to the left are the same
Suggested by Vladyslav Smyrnov – Rejected – 0 Comments
In D365 Finance, if an account structure contains multiple rows with identical combinations of Main Account and financial dimension values, and you attempt to update just one financial dimension (e.g., shifting it to the right), the system applies the update to all matching rows.
For example, consider an account structure that includes a Main Account range along with financial dimensions FD1, FD2, FD3, and FD4. If multiple rows share the same values and you modify one dimension in one row for FD4, all corresponding rows are automatically updated as well.
Main Account FD1 (Dept) FD2 (Cost Center) FD3 (Region) FD4 (Project)

600100 100 200 300 500

D365 system throws an error asking to populate the Release reason when releasing credit hold on sales orders, even though the reason is already selected
Suggested by Sneha Narayan – Rejected – 0 Comments
In D365 F&SCM, on the Credit management hold list page, on sales orders which have been on hold for more than 7 days (with a hold reason - Days overdue), we encounter the error - Release reason is mandatory when we try to release the credit hold With posting of the sales confirmation journal, even though the Release reason is already selected.
Orders which have been hold for less than 7 days are released without any issue.
Microsoft needs to review this and fix the error - allowing us to release credit holds irrespective of how many days the order has been on hold.
The error message should be revised to indicate the exact issue.
As a workaround for orders on hold for more than 7 days , we release the hold Without posting.
Then on the sales order, we post the confirmation journal manually - this places the order on credit hold again.
But after this, on the second attempt, we are able to release the hold With posting.

Awareness between ledger settlement and year-end close - for existing Users
Suggested by Adi Zukler – Rejected – 0 Comments
The feature "Awareness between ledger settlement and year-end close"
Enforces the users to settle on the same account and same year.
At the year end user must settle the open account against the year-end closing transaction.
This feature solves so many problems in closing the year and revaluation.
The only problem with this feature is that if you made cross-year settlements in previous years the feature doesn’t allow you to proceed.
I hope that this feature will be upgraded, and a new parameter will set the validity of the feature so I can use it, since there is no way I can open settlement from the last three years.

The system generates and allows the posting of unbalanced journals.
Suggested by Luca Culurgioni – Rejected – 0 Comments
After the release 10.0.32 the rounding process in the conversion of the amounts of the Credit/Debit to the Accounting currency/Reporting currency sometimes (when some combination of amounts and exchange rates are used) generates unbalanced transactions.
I experienced this problem during the Process allocation request where the system generates automatically some unbalanced transactions, this also happens using the general journals.
In my example the accounting currency of the company was EUR and the allocation journal lines were in USD (Exchange rate 0.920302).
I had a line with a debit amount of 5,000.00 and three lines in the credit amount of 2,519.50, 2,033.50 and 447.00.
In USD the journal is balanced but in the Currency section and the Reporting Currency section, the amounts in EUR for Debit and Credit are respectively 4,601.51 and 4,601.50 with a Balance of 0.01.
If I try to post the journal the system doesn't block me and generates a voucher with a unbalanced transaction.
This example is easily replicable also in a general journal entry using the same amounts and exchange rate.
This problem causes a lot of issues during the posting of allocation journals generating a considerable number of unbalanced vouchers.
I raised a question to Microsoft that recognized the problem but didn't plan a fix for it.

Relase to warehouse checkpoint checking only amount of sales order lines to be released
Suggested by Hylke Britstra – Rejected – 2 Comments
When activating the credit management checkpoint 'Release to warehouse' for blocking rules, when a sales order line is released to warehouse the total amount of the sales order is checked an not the amount of only the released sales order line(s). When the checkpoint 'Packing slip' is used, only the amount of the sales order line is checked, so both options works different.
Also when you release the sales order line with the 'Release to warehouse' credit hold checkpoint, the total sales order is released for credit hold and not only the sales order line you want to release to warehouse.
The suggested idea is to let the 'Release to warehouse' checkpoint work so that only:
- the released sales order line values will be checked and not the total sales order value.
- only the sales order line will be released for credit hold that needs to be released to warehouse and not the total sales order.
