Within some organisations the manager must self-serve their employee's personal information in the case of an emergency, and the HR team are not available due as it may be overnight. This would include Managers viewing their direct reports' home phone number or mobile (if they have not shown up for work), and their emergency contact phone numbers (incase of a work accident). I would suggest managers view this information on their direct reports via My Team within Employee Self Service. If this information is not available for Managers, they must keep their own records outside of the system, which may become out of date or unsecured.

this is normally a standard offer in most uk hr systems and for us is a challenge as our leaders have been used to this data being available for over 15 years self serve.

There is a workarond with some side effects. You can add the Manager role to the private location security settings. See also my blog how to do this: https://dynamicspedia.com/2020/07/about-the-private-location-security-in-finance-operations-and-human-resources/

On the Company directory the private details are then visible, however the private phone numbers are then visible for all employees; not only the direct reports.

So for this reason, also voted on this idea to have it available for only the direct reports.

We would quite urgently need this function. In the view of the crisis management we are experiencing this is a critical function that allows us to communicate efficiently.

Additionally, managers should be able to see reports' emergency contacts as well.

It would be also helpful, if manager could see a comprehensive list of all these contacts for the whole team and be able to export it. (Similar to team performance goals or reviews perhaps). Thank you
