  • New Users should get the Role set as default in the Roles Page

    I submitted a ticket for this and MSFT said it was "by design".


    When new users are assigned licenses and created in Business Central they are assigned the "Business Manager" role as it is first in the list.

    Ou customers would prefer to assign a default role as we used to be able to in NAV and new users would default to the default role and not to Business Manager.



  • Comments on Item References

    Add the ability to add comments and possibly extended text on item references (customer/vendor and item specific) and indicate what documents to print on.

    This would allow extended text and / or comments related to a customer item combination or vendor item combination.

  • Remove External Document No from Whse Ship Header

    When you create a Warehouse shipment for multiple sales orders it will populate the external document no from one of the sales orders to the Header. Then when you post the whse shipment it will update the sales orders for any sales orders that the external document no on the whse ship is different than the sales order.

    This is a really bad "feature" as it overwrites the external document on the sales order and posted shipment and since this is the Customer Po number it makes a huge mess.

  • Add Zone to Bin with Inventory

    Currently you cannot add a zone to a bin with inventory.

    We would proposed the ability to add or change a zone and on validate update all warehouse entries and warehouse activity lines to add or change the bin.


  • Change Log Retention by Table

    It would be nice to be able to set a retention period by table in the change log table setup page. For example you may want to keep item table changes for 3 years but sales order changes for only 1 year, etc.. A field could be added on the table setup page with retention period and then when the retention policy runs via the job queue these periods would be used by table.

  • The idea site Hot, New, etc do not seem to work

    The change log Hot and New do not seem to have any definition.

    It would be great if the New was based on the user viewing and any new ones since viewed or at least new in a certain time period.

    Hot should be a certain number of views or votes?




  • Finish Production Order Worksheet

    We are developing a Finish Produciton Order Worksheet to more effectively change from released to finished.

    The page is loaded with orders where qty remaining less than or equal to zero or the final operation is set to finished.

    They also have the ability to populate the sheet with orders with a percentage completed and last entry (posting, capacity entry, etc.) outside a user specified date.

    The worksheet shows variances vs standard and expected for materials and labor and a drill down to show similar information to the detailed calculation by production order report to see where the variances come from.

    The user can then select orders to finish by checking a check box and finishing the orders similar to checking the accept action message and carry out action messages on the plannig worksheet.

    Limits can be set on the manufacturing setup for max variance in percent for materials and labor to block finishing the orders outside the tolerance. The orders outside the tolerance would need to be finished in the traditional change status on the order.

    This would be a much more efficient process to review orders in a high order count production environment.

  • Automatic process to Kill Idle Sessions

    Need a process that can run to kill sessions idle for X amount of time but need a way to identify a session as a session to never kill (i.e. service account running the job queue entries). Have companies who's users forget to close their browser and leave sessions active for days at a time and depending on what they are doing and screen they are on this can cause record locks that kill jobs like plannig worksheet regenerative plan, etc.

  • Calcualte Bin Replenishment / Movement Worksheet needs to work with pick by FEFO

    The movement worksheet bin replenishment specifically removes the from bin and zone when the location is set to pick by FEFO and the item boeing moved has a lot with an expiration date.

    This is really sloppy as it should be choosing inventory to replenish with based on the same code used for creating picks by FEFO and not jsut "deciding it is too hard" and removing the bin which makes the current functionality useless.

  • Option To Not Allow Free Entry Serial or Lot numbers when item has specific tracking

    When an item is setup with Specific Lot or Serial tracking via the item tracking codes you can currently enter the other item tracking as a free entry. For example an item is setup for lot tracking and nto serial tracking the user can still enter serial numbers along with the required lot number.

    This can cause major issues especially in a Warehouse environment where the warehouse pick cannot reconcile the serial number if it is not expected.

    .The idea would be a boolean on the item tracking setup to Block Free Entry in both the serial and lot section of the item tracking code. This would present no change for current users but could be enabled as needed for companies who do not want to be able to enter "informational: serial or lot numbers. If the flag is enabled and an item is lot tracked and nto serial tracked, the user would be blocked form entering a serial number in the item tracking and vice versa.
