  • Add a total to the Detailed Calculation Report 99000756

The Detailed Calculation Report (99000756) is very useful but also very confusing. There is no Total Cost on the report, where the user would expect to see the total of the material and capacities cost is the Unit Cost field which is the current Unit/Standard cost of the item. This makes the report almost un-usable since the user has to manually add the costs to compare tot he current Unit cost.
  • need a way to see and vote on only new or ideas you have nto seen

It would really help to be able to just review ideas you have not seen to vote on them. you have to wade through a lot of ideas you already saw many times vs just opening and seeing the new ideas
  • Standard cost roll from purchased item to where used

It would be beneficial to be able to roll up standard from a purchased item to the items will bills of material where the purchased item is used. Currently the calculate standard costs is only top down. Companies have requested in the past to be able to adjust the standard in the full where used of the purchased item(s) (sub assemblies and parents) possibly even for any purchased items that were changed in a give time period vs having to roll up all production order items. Example: Purchased item A has a standard of $1.00, the standard cost on the item is changed to $2.00 based on the cost to purchase the item changing. The company then would like to roll up all items with Bills of material where the purchased item is used (including sub assemblies and parents) based on the new standard cost of the purchased item.
  • Planning - do not combine orders

It would be nice to have the option on an item and maybe a vendor to be able to set a do not combine orders. We have some customers who do a hybrid make to order and create a production order for each sales order demand if they do not have stock. The make to order is too rigid and the reservations cause too many issues for them. they would like to be able to use lot for lot and set the accumulation period to 0 and then when plannig is run if they had 3 orders of 10 due on the same day it would not suggest they combine them to one order of 30 (even though that is what most people would think is best, due to QC requirements and restrictions from the customers they do not want to combine them). We can set to planning flexibility none but that has a whole different set of issues.
  • Cross Reference Extended Text

We have had a request from many customer to have extended text and/or comments related to a customer/item or vendor/item combination (Cross reference table). It would be very beneficial if extended text could be added to the specific cross references to add comments on a sales order or to add comments to a sales line (shipping / packaging instructions, unique labeling requirements, quality inspection notes, etc.). This should be fairly simple functionality to add by building on the existing tables, pages and codeunits.
  • Replicate or Load Change log setups via Rapid Start

We have customers with multiple companies and the change log setups cannot be loaded via rapid start so we have to manually setup the change log in every company even though the customer desires the change log to be the same in all companies. This is a tedious and time consuming process. We would like to either be able to load the change log setups or copy with a tool like rapid start or have the possibility to have the change log setup be shared in the tenant for all companies. The later would be ideal since the change log could be setup in any company and then it would be the same in all companies.
  • Block Posting if item has revaluation journal records

Over the years we have seen issues where standard cost rollups are done, implemented and the revaluation journal created. The user does not immediately post or transactions occur while there are records in the journal. This will error our the revaluation posting and I have seen users end up not even posting the journal due to this issue which can create a costing / inventory valuation mismatch. I would propose that if an item has a record in a revaluation journal, block posting for the item system wide until the inventory valuation journal is posted or records deleted. I realize this can stop a lot of posting but the damage done by not getting the revaluation posted would be considered worse.
  • Standard Cost Worksheet - Suggest Item Standard cost Last Direct Cost

We have made a modification for several customers using standard cost and the suggest item standard costs for their purchase items to add another option to populate the new cost with the items last direct cost. This tends to be a better start to price updates when updating large numbers of purchased items.
  • Notification in Standard Cost worksheet if cost have already been implmented

The current code allows a user to run the implement standard costs in the standard cost worksheet even if they have already run the process. We had a customer implement their new costs, it created a revaluation journal and they posted it, then they went back and mistakenly re-ran the implement standard costs and posted a duplicate revaluation journal. it would be very easy to pop up a message the "These Costs have already been implemented, are you sure you want to repeat this process" and force the user to press a YES button to move forward. I have only seen this happen a couple times but where it happened it was not a simple cleanup.
  • Standard Cost Worksheet - remove implemented lines

It would be nice to have a option on the standard cost worksheet to Delete Implemented Costs. They user would press a button that would delete any records where the implemented flag = True
