Debug the value formatting issue in Expense management mobile app

Suggested by Ny Andry Iasy RALISA New  0 Comments

When creating a new expense from the mobile app, there is an error message related to the amount value format saying 'It is impossible to convert the value xxx into a number'. This happens when the cell phone (and therefore the mobile app) has a different language than Dynamics 365 FO and hinders creation of expenses.

My suggestion: can Microsoft enable to run the expense management mobile app in another language than D365 FO. Indeed, no user would change the phone general settings to only be able to use Expense Management mobile app.

Quick Correct Vendor Invoice Expenses in Project Operations Non-stock

Suggested by Jolie Tanigawa-Dillon New  0 Comments

In Project Operations, when a user must correct an expense entry- navigates to time & material backlog - user selects entry, then selects CORRECT ENTRIES - error when trying to correct expenses from vendor invoices that come from FinOps. "Some of the entries that you have selected were not added to this correction journal because they do not have a backing time or expense entry as the originating transaction." This error is referenced to the column external reference which indicates that vendor invoices are generated from an external reference.

No error when trying to correct expenses from expense reports that come from FinOps. This is an inconsistency in behavior as both vendor invoices & expenses reports are considered external references. Request is that the behavior works the same for both Vendor Invoices & Expenses from expense reports – and allows for the quick “correct entries” from the Time & material backlog.

Additional information, Vendor expenses use procurement categories assigned to project category.

    Expense Mobile Mileage Calculation Improvement

Suggested by Emily Stockton New  0 Comments

When a user needs to enter a mileage expense, they would choose the mileage expense category and key in the number of miles to be expensed. The current system functionality doesn't calculate the total at the bottom of the screen until the user clicks the refresh icon.

If users do not select the refresh icon to calculate the total, they will receive an error that keeps them from entering the expense. This is due to the mobile application having no initial knowledge of the tiers (confirmed by the product team engineer). Unfortunately, this has led to some confusion for users as they expect the total to automatically calculate for them.

I am suggesting that the mobile app automatically calculates the total for mileage expenses, rather than relying on the refresh button to be selected.

Project management and accounting feature to set up cost - sales price for items.

Suggested by Andy Pham New  1 Comments

There should be a function that allows us to set up an automatic cost/sales price for item transaction on projects.

Currently, the standard D365 system allow us to set up a specific cost/sales price or markup for each project/project contract. However, this function is only available for hour, expense, fee transactions.

it appears that prices for item can only be configured via Inventory management. Unfortunately, there is no option to set an automatic price/markup for each project/project contract.

Class that could be run to readd default roles to MS users if they are missing

Suggested by Duke Trinh New  0 Comments

Symptom: System Administrator role from the MS user DataIntServiceUser in the Production environment has been removed, causing disruption in the dual write integration. The issue of missing roles on the MS user is crucial for system functionality.

Cause: it seems that this is a bug from Microsoft.

Solution: Create Support ticket for enabling the admin role for current user ID "DataIntServiceUser"

Ideal: Adding a class that could be run to readd default roles to MS users if they are missing. That way if it happens, the issue can be automatically fixed.

Multi-select posted project transactions for adjustments and credit notes feature returns incorrect values

Suggested by Lorenzo Versari New  0 Comments

The adjustment of posted project transactions behaves incorrectly after enabling the "Multi-select posted project transactions for adjustments and credit notes" feature. Specifically, all existing transactions that have 0.00 cost are displayed in the adjustment form together with the transactions that were initially selected for adjustment. In addition to that, the performance of the adjustment process is significantly degraded compared to when the feature is disabled.

Currently (version 10.0.39), the issue occurs when adjusting Item transactions only. Previously, the problem affected Expense transactions as well. However, these have been fixed during release 10.0.36.

This idea is opened to suggest the same fix is applied to all relevant transaction types.

Using Deferral schedules in the Invoice register

Suggested by Jose Manuel Rey Benlloch New  0 Comments

An ability to use Expense deferral functionality from Subscription billing module in Invoice register journals or Invoice approval journals.

We know that it works with PO invoices and Invoice journals, but we can’t locate any setups for Invoice registers and/or Invoice approval journals, which are also standard and very much used functionality, specifically in very large organizations that are using Invoice import. As our clients do, they are using one of the most well known ISVs to import vendor invoices – ExFlow, that uses Invoice registers and Approval journals functionality.

Our request is a setup or even a manual way to use Subscription billing expense deferrals with this standard functionality and when is it planned for as it is not one client that is concerned about it and asking for it.

Establish a mechanism to detect failures when Project Operations automatic updates fail.

We are implementing an automatic update of Project Operations, but we would like to have a mechanism to detect and notify us of the failed status when an update has failed.

Currently, the system checks for errors by discharging errors, but unless we check for errors voluntarily, we are unaware of the system and do not notice that an update has failed.

If there is a conflict between automatic updates and the customer's release work, the latest status will not be reflected, which may affect business operations, so we would like a mechanism to be established to notify us.

Project Accounting information not available on production BOM created through Master planning

Suggested by Laura Cojan New  0 Comments

With reference to LCS Issue 728924.

When firming a planned production order, created from an item requirement and Posting method= Consumed, the system is triggering an Infolog and the project identification details are not copied into the production order.

    Firming

    Number: xxx

    Item number: XXX

    Project ID is mandatory

Line property must be filled in.

Sales currency must be filled in.

Project category must be filled in

    Transaction date is mandatory.

Customers would greatly benefit from a change in the current way the system is intended to work, as a lot of time and effort , as well as user mistakes may be avoided , by automatic the process.

Number of Days Rented’ Field Not Displaying in Mobile App for Car Rental Expenses Despite D365 Configuration

Suggested by Abiola Oyedola New  0 Comments

The "Number of Days Rented" field is not visible in the mobile app, despite being correctly configured in Dynamics 365 (D365) as a Recommended field for the Car Rental expense category.

    Steps Taken / Configuration Details:

    • The field has been set as Recommended in the Expense Management configuration within D365.
    • The issue appears to be isolated to this specific field.
    • Other similarly configured fields, such as "Number of Nights" for the Hotel expense category, are displaying as expected in the mobile app.

    Impact:

    • Mobile users are unable to input the number of days rented for car rental expenses, potentially leading to incomplete or inaccurate expense reports.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Navigate to:
    2. Expense management > Setup > General > Expense fields visibility (Expense reports re-imagined)

⚠️ Ensure that the company you're configuring is the same company used to test in the mobile app.

    1. Select Category:
    2. On the left panel, choose Car rental category.
    3. Field Configuration:
    • Locate the field: "Number of days rented"
    • Set the Visibility to "Recommended"
    • We also tested with other values like "Required", but the issue persists.

    1. Confirm Expense Category Type:
    2. Navigate to:
    3. Expense management > Setup > General > Expense categories
    • Active category: Car Rental
    • Inactive categories: 110-Sales-Car Rental, 210-Office-Car Rental
    • For each, open the category and check the “Expense type” field.
    • Value is set to “Car rental”

    1. Mobile App Testing:
    • Open the Expense Management mobile app
    • Go to the Expenses tab
    • Tap the "+" button to create a new expense
    • Click Skip (no receipt needed)
    • Select “Car rental” as the Expense category
    • Enter a Transaction amount
    • Leave or modify Currency, Transaction date, and Payment method
    • Tap “Add more details”
    1. Issue Observed:
    • The field “Number of days rented” is not visible in the app
    • That field appeared once exactly where I highlighted in yellow color

    1. Validation:
    • We confirmed the configuration is applied to the correct legal entity used in the app.

    Additional Observation:

    • This issue appears to be specific to the Car Rental category.
    • For example, in the Hotel category, the field "Number of nights" is also set to "Recommended" and does appear in the mobile app as expected.
    • Steps to confirm:
    • Configure “Number of nights” for Hotel category in Expense fields visibility
    • Create a Hotel expense in the mobile app
    • Tap “Add more details”
    • Field does appear correctly
