When receiving licence plates against a Purchase order using the Warehouse App, the batch form appears for every Licence plate. This is too time consuming to process.
Also many customers want a 1:1 relationship between the AX batch and the Supplier batch as part of their quality / food safety requirements.
What I am proposing are buttons on the Warehouse App:-
1. New batch
2. Use existing batch
3. Find previous batch

When using the Warehouse App the process would be
1. Pallet / Licence plate 1 - enter Supplier batch reference and create new AX batch (AX can be created automatically or manually)
2. Pallet / Licence plate 2 - same AX batch as 1 so the Batch details do not appear
3. Pallet / Licence plate 3 - same AX batch as 1 so the Batch details do not appear
4. Pallet / Licence plate 4 - new Supplier batch reference so a new AX batch is created and details have to be entered
5. Pallet / Licence plate 5 - same AX batch as 4 so the Batch details do not appear
6. If pallets are being unloaded not in "batch order" then it is possible to scan the Supplier batch reference and retrieve the AX batch from pallets entered previously.

Thank you for your feedback. Currently this is not in our roadmap; however, we are tracking it and if we get more feedback and votes, we may consider it in the future.

I agree with the process explained by Kurt.

We re-use most vendor Batch numbers and have the system generate an LP for each Drum or Pallet being received. But because the receiver still has to scan/enter a Batch for each LP, can be 80+ entries, some choose to receive all of a delivered Batch on a single LP then split that as they put away. Not ideal.

I believe this can be implemented with config options on the mobile device (and possibly related to some item tracking dimension settings) that allow for multiple labels to print with the same batch number information as grouped in License Plate Grouping.

Right now a trailer load of 60 pallets with 2 batches requires 60 mobile device scans of the batch number. If we could accomplish the same with 2 data capture for 20 pallets of batch A and 40 of batch B, that would be HUGE time saving and also could optimize location directive processing as well since it could search for all pallets of a given batch.

This would be optional dependent on the mobile device settings. If you prefer to scan one batch at a time (say as you unload from a trailer) then set to require scan of all tracking dimensions. If not, require scan of only unique serial tracking dimensions per license plate.

This is especially important when recieving multiple pallets and generating the SSCC automatically (LP grouping).
In the present solution, Dynamics will generate all SSCC's automatically if the item has no batch, or if the batch ID is registered on the purchase order line.
If the item requires a batch number to be registered at reciept, the user will be prompted for batch ID for each LP.
A preferred functionality would be that the batch ID would be prompted only once for the total quantity.

Of course, the default action will be the first and you will have to approve its hint, but the other two will still be available after pressing "pencil" or editing the dimension.
In addition, I would also add issues of expiration dates. Some products have a batch number, but they do not need an expiration date (it is no ageing or ageing is very slow counted in years or decades). It should be an option on Product Definition:
- Exp. Date to batch number – YES/NO
If YES:
- always defined manually – we will fulfill this on Mobile Device
- automatically set for product (for example: +1 year from today, or +2 months from today, or + 5 weeks from today) – no performance when working on a Mobile Device.
If NO: – no performance when working on a Mobile Device.

If in the PO are different SKU’s with different schemes (some have batch on bar codes some only an open letter without a bar code) it will be better to have definitions on Product not on Mobile Menu Item.
It would be a checkbox that would set the default action for items for which a batch number must be specified on Mobile Device. Where, using yours examples, it would be possible to configure these options:
A. New batch – if checked, it is always, scan or manually from keyboard for each LP (best for SKU’s with stickers with bar code or if each LP have different batch number).
B. Use existing batch – if checked, you set only first, and next is the same as previous, until you change for new (best for many LP with recurring batch numbers or one batch for all).
C. Find previous batch – if checked, you set only first, next one are hints from list for already used batch numbers in this PO (best for many LPs with repeating batch numbers, but the LPs are arranged in a mixed order from the point of view of the batch or the supplier provided us with a list of all batch numbers that we attach to the PO and then pairing the number with the physical LP – a new option for import that list from excel or text file).

This is a very interesting problem. Here are two, issues:
1. Batch numbers of goods only AX,
2. Batch numbers of goods AX and manufacturer.
In the first case, the numbers can be transmitted from the sequence or manually - the same situation as in the case of the second.
If the batch number is visible as a bar code - it should not be a problem, we just scan. However, if we have to enter using the keyboard (only an open letter without a bar code), there should be some options to help.
The modification should apply to the configuration of the mobile device menu item and on product definition (warehouse section). On mobile devices you will choose:
- first use Product definition – first check that SKU have their own definitions if not - then use Mobile.
- Only Mobile Menu definition – always use definitions from mobile.
