Whenever we assign an Account to a different owner in CRM2013 Online, the timestamps for the notes change, to match the time the account was assigned and who assigned the account. Is it possible to change this, so the timestamp only shows, when the note was created? And show who originally created the note?
I see the logic in the way is works now. It updates to show when it was last changed and who changed it - but I would LOVE to change it, so it would show WHO created the note and WHEN it was created. Is this a thing you can change in the current iteration of CRM2013?

This issue is creating irritation with our customer. In this case the e-Mail communication is listed by the modified date. The sending date would be expected.

An additional related issue is that tracking an email or appointment also updates the modified by address so if users are set up for manual tracking -- or go on holiday for a couple of weeks then tracks all emails on return-- the order of activity in the social pane is meaningless. Most users need to see activities in actual closed (i.e. email sent date) descending.

Why in god's name can't Microsoft let the customer descide how activities should be sorted - at lease make it customizable!

We are using CRM 2015 on premise and nothing has changed, It is really confusing us that activities are not shown chronologically in the CASE view. Consideration was promised already in 2014. What is going on in CRM 2016?

I'm not positive this will help you but you might look into your configurable cascading settings as mentioned here: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/97773 and https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/137978

This seems to make no sense to me that activities show the modified date and the person who modified it as the current user and date stamp on activities that come from merged accounts or contacts. At least if both the modified and original information were visible in the activity view you could see the trail of information.

Thank you for your suggestion. We are considering this functionality for a future release of CRM. Mike Carter This posting is provided "as is" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Also affects activities - working with CRM 2013 on premise. I can't recommend the use of the social pane while this is outstanding - as soon as a record is reassigned, the timeline of the actions undertaken on the entity is no longer correct within the social pane. To present the timeline correctly, we'll need to use a sub-grid rather of activities sorted by another field (such as Date Sent) rather than the social pane. Unfortunately, the sub-grid solution makes less efficient use of screen real estate and forces the user to open the activity to view the full text of the activity (the user can simply expand the selection using the social pane).
