Customers get exceedingly frustrated by this. I'm aware that there are various workaround:
Personalise the page to move Country/Region Code higher
Link to an address lookup API
Write an app to do it
But these are all unnecessary if you simply had the option to stop it doing it. If anyone can provide a genuine reason why it does this I would be intrigued.

I have just seen the solution in version 19.0. It works regarding not deleting zip and city when you change country.
I just think it is a strange description of the option and under ledger settings
A problem is that if you enter a zip-code now to BC it will change to that zip code and country even though you have selected another country. It should not serch for zip codes in other countries than selected.

Any updates on when in the roadmap this has been added. We are moving from NAV 2013 and surprised to see that this counterproductive behaviour is still built into the product with no option to disable it.

Agree - and at the same time disable the requirement for any form of address validation. Have "none" as an option.

I guess you can use the IsHandled in CheckClearPostCodeCityCounty now.

While doing this, worth having the Post Code lookup as an option too. It has no benefit in the UK

Totally agree. Frustrating to say the least!

Agreed!

Also with me the feedbacks are not positive in the SaaS projects. Either they initialize the values in table 225 or also allow free entries.

How is this even a thing?

Agreed - customers get extremely frustrated when data disappears because of a system setting like address formatting.
