When as a Human Resource we assign a task to an employee, there should be an option to send an email notification too. This will notify the concerned employee to check their task list.

Hi,

I'm kind of speechless that this is even asked "help us understand the importance of this functionality". Notifications are the fundamental of checklists and kind of de facto standard Integrating this with Teams is another thing that should be considered to make this even more attractive. It should not be asked WHY but rather how could we fail missing implementation of such fundamental feature.

This is almost essential for anyone wanting to use checklists - we have lots of people who are involved in the tasks associated with checklists who wouldn't normally log in to Dynamics on a day-to-day basis.

They are used to checking emails for any jobs they've been assigned and an email alert that they've been assigned a task in Dynamics would help so much.

It can almost be done using Power Automate but there are certain parts missing that I can't work around - if a task has been assigned to a group, I can't get a Flow to email the members of the group (because I can't see who is in the group in Flow). Likewise, if a task has been assigned as an Employee Self Service task I can't get a Flow to email that person (I can't see in Power Automate who a task has been applied to).

thanks,

Tom

Hello everyone, this is available if related to Workflow. You can go to Workflow history page, then choose Share>Create a custom alert, choose UserID and input user email address. Make sure the change Send email from No to Yes. This will send out an email notification once a workflow item is assigned to the employee. Hope this helps.

It is standard in many other HR systems actually. This should be standard in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Human Resources as well.

If there was a Flow connector for Talent you could do this using Business Events very easily. I think the Flow connector and Business Events should be enabled.
