When a resource requirement is scheduled using the Schedule Assistant, the travel time is correctly calculated. However when using drag&drop, the booking gets created w/o any travel times. This inconsistent behavior often confuses user.

Suggestion: Unify the behavior (of course only if job is not location agnostic).

Update 03/31/20

We released "Auto Update Booking Travel" feature in April 2019, to support the Calculation of travel time when booking is created by Drag and Drop on the Schedule Board. Please find more details here, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/common-scheduler/schedule-travel-time#add-travel-time-with-manual-scheduling

We intend on shipping this short term. There are many details to work out such as, what happens when travel is 30 hours, or impossible, such as traveling across the globe. But we intend on handling the primary use cases short term.

It would also be useful to have the estimated travel time added to the Resource Requirement (rather than just the booking) and allow the estimated travel time to be populated manually or via some customisation before scheduling (rather than just relying on the Bing Service to do this for you and write it to the Booking). This is to cater for the scenario where travel time is added to a Quote or agreed with the customer commercially prior to Work Order Scheduling, or to accommodate global travel where flight time cannot be calculated by the Bing service (and so needs to be added some other way)

I agree - the current behavior is hard to explain to the customer.

It's important to standardize the behavior to have good user experience. furthermore it is important to calculate the travel time for initial work order / from previous work order, if manually created, to allow high qualitiy in customer communication when technician will arrive.

Very important to unify the behavior.

Always the same user experience is extremely important for user acceptance.
