1. Go to any account record -> Social pane -> add new note
2. In the note title enter some text at the end with date ( for example " Test date issue 10/10/10)
3.System Automatically updates the note title with long date time ( Like "Sun Oct 10 2010 00:00:00 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time)" )
4.Basically all the text that i entered in the title is wiped out.

Seems to be browser dependent: Not an issue in Internet Explorer 10, but affects Chrome (ver 40). Just ending the note title with a number is sufficient for it to be replaced with a long date/time when notes are re-displayed (e.g. closing and re-opening the record). Note can be created in any browser, it seems to be a display issue in Chrome.
