Please support this as a matter of urgency because for years the only way we could put a smart hyperlink into an email template was by using IE11, or worse, by building it somewhere else and pasting it into the template and getting inconsistent and bizarre results.

The builtin html editor used to edit emails and email templates is very restrictive and troublesome when using copy/paste.
Troubles include:
- Font end up different for pasted text
- Formatting options are minimal (eg. no tables, etc)
The current workaround that most people use is to copy the email text from the template into notepad/word, edit it there and paste it back. The Problem then is that formatting is lost altogether along with hyperlinks (if done in Notepad to avoid font issues).
Please consider including an already accepted standard editor like Telerik's RadEditor or CKEditor to provide users with a more workable emailing method.

This would be great - the new email experience is nice.
Adapting this for signatures and email templates would really encourage the use of this.

It's great if template supports the Developer > Content Control function, or simply allow the function to be brought over by copy & paste from a word doc without losing the formula.

+1 If MS proposal is to supply a real world class CRM solution. A complete tool for communication with our client should be a priority. My company will never send a plain text or a broken html email to customer.

i'm baffled every release that comes out without this being addressed. i call this the "What-you-see-is-NOT-what-you-get" editor...so frustrating to try to get even the most basic formatting on CRM emails. it removes spaces, mangles hyperlinks, changes fonts...i've spent WAY to much time fussing with it. Users just don't understand why a CRM tool would be so limited in email functionality. Please update this tool!

Or allow to view/edit source without reformating once html version is edited. I started from a blank message and as soon as I copied a block at the end that came from a previously sent email, the formating included got the whole message wrecked up.
