The current insights offered on email interactions are rendered nearly useless by the lack of decent reporting tools and custom view development. For example, a very basic question about a campaign is who did not open the email. This is necessary for reporting but also for campaign follow up. There is a hint at some more advanced capability: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/marketing/custom-analytics but the integration recommended is not available.

He Felix,

This doesn't fix anything for us.

1) You can't export. I am never going to convince an exec to go into this view to look at weekly reports.

2) The data expires after 2 years, how are we supposed to benchmark?

3) We can't customize the view to show what stats are relevant to who we are showing the data to.

4) There is no way to pull a list of everyone who has bounced, unsubscribed or been blocked making list cleanup a nightmare.

5) There is no one exportable report that we could export to show how a campaign did. Currently our staff goes into each individual email. goes to hard bounces, exports, goes to soft bounces, exports, goes to opens, exports then combines the 10+ exported excel sheets into one. This is crazy for what is supposed to be a data rich platform.

There is so much confusion in your documentation around whether RTM stats cam even be accessed. I tried opening a support ticket, no one knew. I tried getting TP&D technical consultation, no one knew. They directed to this article https://community.dynamics.com/blogs/post/?postid=4e96ca1e-52ed-4ae4-9887-af8d6e563304 which says that custom reporting is available for OBM but is so vague about RTM. And now Marketing is pushing RTM only with NO reporting other than one pre-fab one size fits all dashboard with no exportability and only 2 years of history available? How is this an enterprise solution?

Dear all,

We are currently wondering why all Power BI templates provided for the integration only display Outbound Marketing Analytics?

Regarding the Insights provided in Real Time Marketing: The entire idea behind real time marketing is getting the analytics and quick as possible, but this is not integrated in any of the Power BI Templates...

In addition we are needing analytics on e-mail level, on lead, contact and account level. Is there any plan to dive deeper into the Real Time Data?

Hi Felix

The power Bi option is great, but for a customer perspective it is needed OOB instead of an azure blob storage and power BI combination.

Is it not possible to have the pre built templates as a dashboarding in the marketing app OOB intergration?

Still pretty complicated to implement. This is a Marketing app and the end users are not technical. This should be more point and click without the need to create blob containers, access the azure portal, using storage explorer, etc.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for this comment.

I wanted to follow up and find out if the advanced capabilities which are now available and mentioned in documentation here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/marketing/custom-analytics, satisfy the needs you discussed. Have you tried the feature and if so do you have any feedback to share?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Felix
