Currently the barcode scan function for the mobile app, wether that be in global search or on a form field is limited to QR or 1D barcodes.

I would think users would benefit from Visual seach which would do the same, but also perform OCR text recognition, giving the ability for the user to also input text from product labels, maybe which is not in barcode format.

Example is Google lens - as this allows you enable camera, and live in the preview you can tap/select text

This would eliminate any typos, and therefore improve data accuracy and faster input for users.
