Often you have different flavours of an entity, lets take account as an example, where you could have "business accounts" and "private customers".

If you now want to filter a lookup field, e.g. on an opportunity, to only return "private customers" you can apply a view to this lookup field on a form.

But if you now create a system view including this field and a user wants to filter this view by a certain customer, the filter is no longer applied (like on the form), but all accounts are returned.

Please add the functionality to apply a view to limit results returned on a filter in views.
