I often have clients that get mixed up between Live & Test companies - especially when the have multiple tabs open. The result is they end up processing live transactions in test - or worse, test transactions into live.

There is the company badge option (Under Company Information) - but that only produces a small cell to top right of screen, off to the side (so in the periphery of your vision) - and is limited to 4 characters.

My idea is to allow users a) change the colour of the main banner (which is usually black) based on the current company (similar to badge option), and/or b)
allow the company logo to be displayed there too.

Thank you for your feedback. We are not considering the suggestion at this time due to the following reason:

This idea does not align with how the banner (header) is used across Microsoft apps and services. By adding such nuances specifically for Business Central, this would add complexity in how admins as well as the Business Central service manage the change of company context across apps.

Like many other Microsoft apps and services, Business Central displays the common header (app bar) at the very top of the screen. Organization administrators can customize that header to display specific colors and company logo, which can be different for different users based on security groups. This is intended at users who primarily work in one company or similar group of companies within that organization.

However, we are not far from this idea: As of 2022 release wave 2, admins can specify the Company Badge that will show directly in the header and allows users to switch companies from there. This gives additional visibility, reachability, and a coloured visual cue which i understand are the desires of this idea.

Great idea. I would add that this could also be automated by the system, without even having the user changing something.
It could take the value we see in the Admin Center (Production/Sandbox) and stick it on the top right corner in a format that is visible and has a 70% transparency, like a thin banner as if you would fold the top right corner of a paper.
That way it becomes more visible as it won't be the standard horizontal text and colour codes may get mixed up by users.
