Writing tooltips is not the best moment in a developer's life. The possibility of defining the default tooltip at the level of the definition of table fields would be very comfortable in the same way as the Caption property which is inherited by the field displayed on a page and can be modified according to the context.

^^^ What they said.! Also, please add ApplicationArea = All as a default. Let it only be necessary where an alteration is desired.

For ToolTips - when partners do add them, in the vast majority they are simply created as 'Specifies the x.'; (where x = field name) and it is a great waste of limited developer resources (as is adding ApplicationArea = x to all controls)

Please add these into the MS BC compiled app

1) Application Area = All

2) ToolTip = 'Specifies the x.'; (where x = field name)

Surely this is just a few hours from Microsoft's side? I can say from my experience across all resellers that thousands of partner hours are being wasted.

Those valuable hours could and should be put to far more productive & better use!

Things like this are a must have with DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) philosophy

Please...

it is something so basic that it is hard to believe why it was not defined from the beginning at a table-field level.

Please, let's get this feature, to finally close this decades-old gap, and save developers having to copy-and-paste ToolTips to every page/extension, which are guaranteed to drift apart over time. Thanks!

That would be a very good improvement.

Hi,
great idea and I would even go a step further: Why not allowing creating/modifying tooltips directly in the page (so no need for the developer to create it, the consultant or product owner can easily do it), maybe during personalization with special permissions.
