It is currently not possible to direct event registration forms at Leads or Leads & Contacts (such as with marketing forms). We would very much like to have this feature available to us.

Thanks for this suggestion. It is already possible to generate leads from contacts for event registrations. If you choose to enable lead generation for events, then a new lead will also be generated for each registration and linked to the appropriate contact. However, if a contact who previously registered an event registers for the same event again, a new lead record is not created. To control whether to generate new leads for any event, open the event record and set the Create leads for event registrations option to Yes or No

We will continue to collect votes for the suggestion to target leads only and considerate it in future roadmap. Thanks, CIJ PM

Very needed feature!When leads are created from event registrations, they are generated with only minimal information — typically just first name, last name, and email address in my experience. This results in significant data loss for the Sales team, who rely on richer data to effectively qualify and engage with leads.Additionally, the existing lead matching rules are not respected during this process. As a result, a new lead record is created for every event registration, even when the contact already exists or has registered for multiple events. This leads to unnecessary duplication, fragmented lead histories, and additional manual effort to clean up data.We also have customers who only wish to create leads through their event registrations.

Another vote to provide Lead audience options. Based on our Contact protocol that requires additional data fields, we are unable to use Event Planning functionality without a Lead audience option. Not having that option available to use in Customer Insights-Journeys limits the Marketing team to Event Tracking manually via spreadsheets and losing time and visibility into sales opportunities.

Further DetailsCurrently, if you invite a Lead to an invite and the register, they become a contact. That contact then gets the event registration in their timeline. The issue with this is that sales teams do not see this registration in the timeline of their leads, thereby negatively impacting the sales process.
