Client has tested current Delegation: following are the remarks Delegation scenario failed miserably; it looks like a legit Microsoft defect and needs to be sorted asap. I raised this a couple weeks ago. Scenario was as follows: a. Employee 1 reports to me b. I delegated my approvals to Employees 2 c. Employee 2 successfully received the workflow task in the Talent homepage d. When Employee 2 clicked on it, Review screen appears but there are no details populated in the review. There are products in AU that delegate magnificently, where you can delegate an employee to any manager while a manager is absent, then return the delegation when the manager returns. The other option is also to delegate some tasks. Currently delegation only works if you move the manager to the another managers position.

In D365 the delegation is limited to workflow tasks. It would be great if another manager can be set as a full delegate / substitute user so that manager can also fulfill other responsibilities of the absent manager like for example submitting a time off request on behalf of a subordinate of the absent manager. Now this can be only done by Human Resources. Changing the reporting structure temporarily is not an acceptable workaround.
