It would be great to be able to see a "last contacted" date in views for accounts, contacts and any other activity enabled entity. It would simply show the date of the latest activity (email, phone call, meeting) linked to that item

So rollup field works on contacts, leads and accounts but the limit of 10 per entity when most will want to count oppty closes, wins, loses, etc. can be limiting as well as the timing delays. Having a field already do this that can work with flows would be great. The other blockers with flows are:You cannot start with a modified record trigger for activities entity; you would have to start with each activity and then difficult to use more than regardingregarding is not consistent, regarding doesn't always show the contact in a tracked emailCannot create an action on a rollup field so for me while I can create a rollup for a contact by example I cannot then on modify of that rollup field have a flow check if the owning business unit is X and then add that date to a fieldSo we need to be able to have a rollup like field with cascading activities we can create action on or: fix rollup to allow for business unit and other filters or fix the activities entities to be more universal and work with flows or fix the ability to rollups to work with flows. Any one or more of those would make use of last activity in D365 CRM a super effective tool! That was many hours of research to find a simple way to handle using basic last activity by business unit solution! Thank you for considering and happy to chat more about this issue.

Hi. What about allowing filtering of owning business unit in that rollup field. Yes we can use a rollup field to calculate last activity but that rollup field doesn't allow us to filter owning business unit. That would also help with many crm users having teams or business units and needing to aggregate activity not rollup across all owning business units. The rollup field only allow a filter of "contains data" or not for an owning business unit which I believe is useless. See the idea on owning business unit rollup functionality.Microsoft Idea (dynamics.com)This would t and easy fix I believe.

I would also like to have the ability to configure which activity types (including custom activity types) update the last contacted date on the regarding entity. I've had situations where certain activities should not update the last contacted date.

I believe we have been doing this using workflows that might update the following hypothetical fields based on the different activity types (date completed) e.g on Account form: - Last E-mail date - Last Appointment done - Last phone call made so on...

Date Last Contacted Please add a "Date Last Contacted" field to the Account, Contact, Lead, and Opportunity entity and forms. This field should be automatically populated whenever someone completes an activity (e.g. phone call, email, appointment, task, fax, or note.) There are myriad ways to accomplish this, and this happens to be one of the most frequently requested features from our customer base. See examples below:http://www.powerobjects.com/powerpacks/powerlastactivity/http://www.atriocrm.com/atrio-last-contact/http://us.hitachi-solutions.com/blog/2015/01/26/last-activity-date-in-dynamics-crm-2015/https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/203343http://www.dynamicscrmpros.com/storing-last-activity-microsoft-dynamics-crm-record/ We also need corresponding views authored to help us understand and visualize this information (e.g. who we're falling out of contact with, which opportunity isn't getting adequate attention.)

Thank you for your suggestion. We are considering this functionality for a future release of CRM. Steve This posting is provided "as is" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
