This idea is blank. Is this for ensuring that interaction data from merged contact all show up in the timeline of the master contact? If so it's so frustrating to see this wasn't considered. It makes data cleansing a hard task..

We're still waiting for this update. When will it be released? It's a really big issue for us that all the historical (marketing) data is deleted when merging two contacts.

What a pity that Microsoft did not consider this point on its own and now we have to go through a wish list.This point prevents just to active cleaning of duplicate data in the system - it's like if I would lose the customer history.And since Microsoft with Dynamics Marketing is also not able to adjust the duplicate detection to the real needs, this is from my point of view a serious bug in its entirety.

I agree that interactions (Marketing Insights) merge should be native, and recognized and maintained as a cumulative interactions of the main record's attributes. The fact is there's a continually growing autocreation of Contacts from multiple sources (LinkedIn/Events/Forms/etc.). This will only grow more important of a capability.

Merging events and form interactions is important for us because sometimes existing contacts submit a form with an email adress different to that saved in Dynamics - so a new contact is created.
When the new ( duplicate ) contact is then merged with the already existing record, the insights (e.g. event registration) need to be merged.
