Complete a task with less clicks

To complete a task in the UI, the user has to click on the 'V' icon to close the task, and then again on the close button in the popup window. I would like the task to be set to completed at the first click, so without a popup window. It used to work that way in the old web interface.

Within the case management app, the "Save and Close" function does not close the tab of the new page it opens like it did in the previous versions of CRM.
