  • Multiple Windows

It appears that the only way to have multiple windows open is to start a new session in the browser in a separate window or tab. Is this true? As NAV RTC users, it is not unheard of to have several windows open at once. How is this being managed in the new client? It seems unacceptable to have each window open right on top of the last one opened. Yikes.

  • Create Pages Based on Queries

We use queries to great extent in Dynamics NAV. We access query results with OData using Excel and it allows us to do very power analytics with native NAV data, but also allows us to bridge NAV data with information from other data sources to do even more power things. It would really be something to be able to easily convert a query to a page which could then be customized. Right now, most of our queries are presented to Excel in OData format, with links back into the NAV application, to get to the records at hand. If this were instead presented to a page that could have saved views and action buttons, we could stay in the native application. I understand this is possible through custom code, but it would be great if those of us who manage the application in-house without a developer's license, could make this happen.
  • Unit of Measure Changes Description

It would be nice to be able to enable or disable the fact that changing a unit of measure on the line of a document changes the description back to the default description.
  • Send As Salesperson Code When Logging a Segment

When using Segments to send out emails to Contacts listed in that Segment, it would be beneficial to be able to have those email messages sent from the Salesperson's email assigned to that Contact. This would not only make the email arrive at the recipient's inbox from an expected source, it would also place that email in the Sent Items of the appropriate salesperson. Of course, there need to be credentials installed somewhere that have send-as permissions to the mailboxes of that salesperson, but that is certainly something that can be arranged and tested within NAV.
  • Automatic Email Logging and Logging Emails with Segments

Currently, if email logging is in place under Marketing Setup > Email Logging, then emails are automatically logged according to the rules outlined in that setup (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/marketing-set-up-email-logging). If emails are sent by logging a Segment, those go out right away and then they'd be picked up subsequently by the email logging feature, effectively creating (2) Interactions for each single email that goes out. Is there any plans to prevent this? One could imagine that a business doing one of these actions, is doing both (like we are). Thanks for your consideration! John
  • Re-Run Current Segment Criteria

As we know, there can be several steps to creating a highly curated segment. Most of our users are confused by the static nature of the Segment lines: they're only correct at the time the segment criteria was evaluated. If there was a button to "Re-Run Current Segment Criteria," it would be a way for our users to refresh these lists, which change as we update the metadata surrounding our Contacts. Many feel like the Refresh button would do this, but of course, it does not. I understand we can Save Segment Criteria, but that's just another record to maintain and includes extra steps. Lastly, since the Add / Refine / Reduce reports always "Last used options and filters," this very often results in unwanted criteria being added to the lists. The "Last used options and filters" is likely to be universally unwanted on these reports, especially considering the number of FastTabs and default filters which are presented on these reports.
  • Contact Email Address Validation

It would be nice to have the email field as a datatype so that users could not enter non-email addresses into this field. If a user inserts a type-o that results in a non-email address, it'd be better to find this out upon editing the record, rather then when trying to send an email from NAV.
  • Restore Sales Quote After Original Quote Has Been Deleted

It would be nice to be able to restore Archived Sales Orders and Archived Sales Quotes into new documents. Presently, they can only be restored if the original Quote or Order still exists. However, as we know, quotes are converted to orders regularly, and upon posting, the Sales Order ceases to exist, and lives on as a Posted Sales Invoice. Of course, the Copy Document action would work if pointed at the Posted Sales Invoice to resurrect the Quote or Order, however, there are business cases where the Posted Sales Invoice that resulted from a Quote does not look like the Quote that it originated from. Consider a customer who orders a custom item, but cannot have their invoice appear like a bill of material: they want a single-line invoice, perhaps. If the Quote and Order archive could restore to a new document, this would really help out.
  • Hotkey Press Underlining / Illuminating

In the RTC, which is dearly missed, there were many instances where a letter that labels a button would be underlined, indicated that key could be pressed to actuate the button. This should be present in the Universal Windows App and web client. Additionally, navigating using the keyboard for actions is missing as well. In the old RTC, pressing the ALT key would illuminate all of the hotkeys that could be used and actioned on in the ribbon. This is missing, of course, and we think it should be returned.
  • Page Inspection: sort fields by name or datatype

It is nice that page inspection can stay open on the side pane while one selects different records. The old method held the entire client hostage during this process, which could be painful. An enhancement here would be to sort by Field Name, or by Data Type, and to choose the default sort. Having them in the "field order" rather than alphabetical is nonsensical for the purposes of this feature.
