Supplier kanbans and use of vendor portal
The withdrawal kanban is typically used to pull material from a Material warehouse to a production warehouse/location. If no onhand exists on that warehouse and the default order type of that warehouse is purchase + the planning principle is "requirement" then the withdrawal kanban will trigger purchase order/purchase line 1:1, which is the closes correspondence of a purchase kanban that AX Standard can support.
(Only eBECS has an ISV add-on for Purchase Kanbans, that has improved the purchase handling.)
And another big problem in Standard AX is more in the direction of communicating the requirements automatically with the vendor and have the vendor maybe print out the kanban cards and supply the goods properly packed and sorted etc...
Purchase Kanban would make most sense in combination with some Vendor portal functionality or when using a Kanban EDI Message, that allows the Vendor to deliver with specific paperwork.

Better support for backflush of unreserved material
When running production orders with manual BOM line reservation in a WHS controlled warehouse, it is not possible to find the production Input Location for backflushing the BOM line material if the picking list journal is created in relation to a route Card Journal. It only works with the picking list journal parameter option that is activated direktly with the report as finish. It should however also work with the route dependend picking list journal.
Furthermore when a Company works 24/7, the worker in the late shift should be able to report as finish, even if there is not enough material on the product input Location of the resource in D365.
Currently we get an error that stops the RAF due to the "missing" material. What we need and what we customized for our customer is that in this scenario we are still able to post the RAF journal and AX is creating an open picking list journal with the material that either has not enough material on the production Input Location or even when there is no location dimension found at all for the material, due to other missing setups.Target of that requested function is to not block the RAF if physical and system inventory is not in sync and allow for a later correction based on the open picking list.

Report scrap quantity from mobile device
It would be great advantage to be able to not only report a good quantity as finished with the mobile device menu items "Report as finish" and "Report as finish and put away", but also be able to report a scrap quantity at the same time. The handling/posting of the material for the scrap quantity should then be executed exactly in the same way as it is already done when you report as finish from the Client and enter the scrap quantity there. To say it in simply words, what works from the client should also be supported from the scanner! Thank you very much! Best Regards Juergen

Configurable Business Documents enhancements for DIRECT PRINTING
With Version 10.0.9 "direct printing" was introduced as new option/destination type "print" within the reporting destinations of electronic reporting. However the functionality seems to be limited as follows: - Only one printer can be setup per report configuration! - There is no option to have different printers settings per report, which is an essential common requirement! - There is no option to define the number of print outs if e.g. a document is required to print with 2 copies! Those limitations most probably result from the fact that the standard print management settings are not passed to the using destination of the ER framework (if the new "print" destination type is used)? And the ER framework is not ready to accept requests, like e.g. different printer setups based on conditional queries and the creation of different number of copies! Suggested and required improvements: Either utilize the standard printer setup to its full extend also in combination with the "print" destination type in ER reporting destinations or enable similar functionality to be setup in the ER print destination configuration form!

Personalize the grid view on the PFE (Production Floor Execution) Application
I have been testing the PFE (Production Floor Execution) and could extend the grid on the PFE with further columns (e.g. Resource and Operation), which is very nice and absolutely needed.
However this could not be saved as view and the columns were removed again when the form was opened the next time!
I got the confirmation from Microsoft that neither a kind of "saved view" nor any other way for any personalization is currently supported on the PFE.
Therefore I have created this idea! Thank you very much in advance for supporting it!

Enable automatic adjustments in short pick scenarios for items with batch below location reservation hierarchy
As mentioned in this blog post, it is unfortunately not possible to use the "Adjust inventory" functionality together with a work exception of the type "short pick" if the items have any tracking dimensions below the location.
However most of the time items with batch below locations are used (at least in our projects) because the batch above location would be an "overkill" for other warehouse procedures.
The idea would be to extend that functionality in the standard and enable it also for items with tracking dimension below location.
Thank you!
Text part from the blog post:
Note, if the Adjust Inventory option is selected, all quantity for the location and the dimensions above the item that is being short picked will be adjusted. This does not apply to items with tracking dimensions that are below the location.

Print container labels and/or container content SSRS report at the container close from the WHS mobile device menu item “Container closing” or if the “Mobile device container packing policy” has the “Close container automatically” set to true!
Currently the packing policy has only one parameter setup for printing the new container label at the time of container creation with the mobile app menu item “container creation”.
In many business scenarios it is however required to print the label only at the container close when all information for the container label like packed content, weight and dimension etc. is available!
A new parameter “Print container label at container close” in the packing profiles would be a great addtion to the standard solution!
Furthermore we are currently not sure if the “print container content” toogle is respected and the SSRS Report “Container Content” is also printed if the the container is closed on the mobile menu item “container closing” and not on the D365 pack station form. This should be triggered in the same way of course!
Thank you!

B2B eCommerce: Control display of Modes of Delivery by customer, delivery address or customer hierarchy!
As additional feedback concerning the new multi-outlet ordering feature planned to be released in Wave 1 2024, B2B customers have an other problem that is related and could/should be solved in this context, too.
This is concerning the mode of delivery!
Currently on the website you can only display all mode of deliveries that have been assigned to the retail channel, the products and the countries etc.
But in a B2B Scenario, we have the situation that we have default (and agreed) mode of deliveries for the CustomerOrganization type on the customer master data and/or the individual delivery addresses of a customer.
Therefore it would be of great advantage if we were able to control that only those mode of deliveries are displayed on the B2B website when the contact of the customer is placing an order.
The existing delivery addresses should be visible as well and when a new delivery address is created on the Website the contact should also be able to select the mode of delivery from the previously mentioned selection of modes of deliveries.
Currently nothing like that is on the Microsoft roadmap!
Some further additional and a bit more detailed thought, that we also provided to the Microsoft Product team directly:
The current functionality might be sufficient for Call Center, POS and eCommerce B2C channels, but with B2B channels we think the business process is a bit different, because here the actual B2B customers are entering their orders directly and we need to refer to the previously agreed modes of deliveries only.
In a B2C channel you would offer more or less standard services like UPS Expedited, UPS Standard, UPS Express etc. to all of your customers for a channel!
But since multiple B2B customers are also ordering from the same B2B channel, you have different customer specific mode of deliveries, like for example with different truck forwarders, since most of the B2B customers have special rates with certain forwarding companies etc.
You can not simply show all the various modes of delivery to all B2B customers, because many of them would be irrelevant for the individual customers and would create lots of confusion.

Print container labels and container content SSRS report at container close
This new idea is to replace the previous idea dd. 6/20/2023 with the following title because the vote count didn´t work for this previous idea:
Print container labels and/or container content SSRS report at the container close from the WHS mobile device menu item Container closing or if the “Mobile device container packing policy has the Close container automatically set to true!
Idea details copied over:
Currently the packing policy has only one parameter setup for printing the new container label at the time of container creation with the mobile app menu item “container creation”.
In many business scenarios it is however required to print the label only at the container close when all information for the container label like packed content, weight and dimension etc. is available!
A new parameter “Print container label at container close” in the packing profiles would be a great addition to the standard solution!

This should be triggered in the same way of course!

Financial tags for Inventory movement journals
Are there any plans to extend the financial tags to Inventory movement journals?
One of our customer would like to capture additional data such as e.g. customer name or number or the worker who creates the journal line, when creating a movement journal to a certain off-set account.
This question was also posted to yammer under with the answer and advise of Kristi Slininger to create this idea!
