  • CRM for Outlook: Dialog boxes don't zoom to 125% or higher (Ease of Access BUG)

Submitted on behalf of a visually challenged end-user:

When using the browser, the user can specify the zoom level and dialog boxes conform to that. But when using CRM for Outlook, dialog boxes only display correctly at 100% (Right-click->Personalize->Display).

Consequentially, visually challenged end-users that enable Ease of Access display settings have to manually stretch dialog boxes to view content.

(While not applicable to the end-user that prompted this request, this also has implications for users that enable Ease of Access mouse settings.)

Example: Case form, Add to Queue button

  • Special View for Email Activities that show From and To columns

When on the Account form, Closed Activities view, the Created By column is helpful, but not sufficient. It would be nice to have From and To columns as well as to be able to filter out the SYSTEM entries.

Calling out emails particularly (as in, there be an icon for them in the Common Section, under Closed Activities) would be helpful too.

  • VPN-ing or RDP-ing into another network causes CRM for Outlook to crash

I noticed this particularly with Cisco VPNs but if you forget to disconnect / need to stay on the VPN / RDP session, CRM for Outlook (On-premise) bombs the next day and you have to completely reconfigure it. A major pain since we need to hop onto to our client's servers all the time.

  • Ability to have Leads and Accounts listed together, preferably grouped by geography

The sales folks I've spoke with don't care about the "phase" of the relationship so much. They need to hit their territory in a systematic way and if a Lead is a few blocks down from an Account (geographically), they just want to go to one place within CRM and enter their meeting notes.

  • Ability to move / copy OTB entities to any module (Goals to Workplace area, etc.)

Scenario: Assume I'm a marketing manager. I go to the Marketing module; Goals is not in the left-hand navigation.

Just like I can add modules to My Workplace via Personal Options, I want to add any entity anywhere that easily.

  • Ability to have "Open in a new tab" when right-clicking in a CRM list

Scenario: I am a System Admin. My IE browser settings are set so it does NOT switch to new tabs when they are created. When writing workflows, I forgot to check the "Automatically delete completed workflow job (to save disk space)" checkbox on the Administration tab in my workflows. I want to make this change to all my (relevant) workflows and immediately reactivate them.

It would nice if I could right click the workflows (or any item that appears in a list), have them open in a new tab (since my settings don't automatically switch to the new tab). That way, I could narrow my scope; 1] I don't want to accidentally activate a workflow that is currently in draft status (and needs to remain so) and 2] it's easy to lose my place in the list when the focus auto-switches to the new tab.

Currently the only options when I right-click a record are: Open, Copy a Link, Email a Link, Print, and Refresh List.

  • GUIDs in workflows / views don't auto resolve between orgs

Scenario: I have four orgs. There are PROD, TEST, DEV, and SANDBOX. I build a workflow in DEV that fires depending on the Business Unit of the User. When I ship that workflow to any of the other environments, the workflow won't activate because it doesn't have the correct Business Unit GUID.

If the business units in all orgs are named the same, can't the workflows just "figure it out"?

With views (on which Dashboards are based) it's even worse. At least with workflows, the offending GUIDs are denoted with quotation marks that indicate the GUID is from another org. But in views there is no such denotation so, if the business units are named the same (but it's the wrong GUID) there's no easy way to tell.

  • Ability to qualify Leads into Contacts and associate to an existing Account *in the dialog box*

  • The "My" views should also include things owned by the teams I'm a member of by default [Views & Charts]

Team ownership is very hard to implement (successfully).

One of the reasons for this is because my team's "stuff" doesn't should up in *my* lists. Just because it isn't 100% "mine" doesn't mean it isn't mine.

If an organization wants to do total team ownership (of, say, Accounts / Contacts), it's unfortunately not practical because all "My" view have to have the clauses updated to include "Equals Current User OR Equals Current User's Teams".

  • Ability to bulk edit Security Roles OR stop switching to a new tab/window when opening links from a list

Scenario: I am a System Admin. My IE browser settings are set so it does NOT switch to new tabs when they are created. I need to edit a bunch of security roles.

It would nice if I could right click the security roles (or any item that appears in a list), have them open in a new tab (since my settings don't automatically switch to the new tab). That way, I could narrow my scope; 1] I don't want to accidentally edit a security role privilege (that needs to remain as-is) and 2] it's easy to lose my place in the list when the focus auto-switches to the new tab.
