  • Improvement Request for Errors When Importing Excel Files Containing Choice Fields with Images or Emojis

    Currently, when importing an Excel file that includes choice fields with values such as images, emojis, or symbols, a duplicate mapping is detected, resulting in error code 0x80040342, and the import may fail.


    This issue occurs because, due to the default behavior of SQL Server collation, values that appear different visually are internally considered identical. At present, we have confirmed that no permanent fix has been provided.

    As a workaround, you can replace emojis and similar characters with text, use a CSV file, and manually select the mapping in Dynamics 365 during the import process.

    However, this method is cumbersome and inefficient.

    I believe that resolving this issue would significantly improve the convenience and efficiency of the import process.


    So, I sincerely hope this issue will be addressed.
