  • To generate packing slips from Loads automatically

    When we generate Packing slips from the Load it is then possible to Cancel them (Ship and receive tab, Cancel packing slips button).

    Unfortunately, if we're using WMS but want to post Packing slip automatically, we have to run Sales and Marketing periodic function (Sales & Marketing > Sales orders > Order shipping > Post packing slip). In this case the Cancel packing slips button on the Load is greyed-out.

    It would be nice to have a periodic in WMS module to post packing slip from "loaded" Loads automatically, to then be able to cancel them in case of need (customer cancels the order for instance).


  • To use the same unit when declaring a short picking than the one used to process normal sales order picking

    When warehouse worker declares a short pick they enter the real quantity they were able to pick, not the inventory correction.

    But the system currently replaces the unit used for picking (the highest possible one in Unit sequence group Id) with the inventory unit.

    So if I'm picking boxes and there is one missing compared to the requested quantity, I am not supposed to enter the real quantity of boxes I'm picking but its equivalent in pieces...!?

    That is not user-friendly and most of warehouse workers won't see the unit change and will declare a wrong quantity.


    If system has to make a stock adjustment based on a short-picking, it should convert to the inventory unit. It is not the warehouse worker's job to work with several units in the same sales order picking process.

    Not all items have the same units and unit conversions, there is no warning message, and user can only count what they have in front of them (boxes in my example).

    Furthermore if you activate "work confirmation" on picking quantity, the mobile app. waits for boxes. Only short-pick has a different behavior and this leads to mistakes.


  • Possibility to reuse a license plate number in inbound ASN scenario

    Currently we cannot reuse a license plate in an inbound ASN process. It is possible to create a second packing structure with an already received LP, but, even if the LP is empty, the WMS app. will prevent receiving it again (message "LP already received").

    Problem is when customer uses rotating boxes...

    I don't really understand the reason why D365 prevents this process; at least a setup could be added so that we can decide if we allow rotating LPs or no.

  • Ability to move by template a full license plate without scanning its content

    According to this discussion: (122) Viva Engage : Dynamics 365 and Power Platform Preview Programs : View Conversation (yammer.com), it seems not possible to use a "move by template" work to transfer a license plate from one location to another with by only scanning the license plate. When a license plate contains one item with several batch numbers, each batch number must be scanned individually.

    If we use a simple "move" there is a button to pick the full license plate, but not in "move by template".

    Problem is "move" doesn't use location directives.

    It feels weird for my customers not being able to move a license plate at once and using location directives at the same time; and I agree it's difficult to explain the reason why...

  • Display quantity and weight during packing with mobile device process

    When we pack via mobile device, to change the quantity per item in a container we have to click on a small pen icon in the blue ribbon. It is risky for user to forget to change it. Could we have a big quantity field (with the spinner) like we can see it during picking process for example?

    We have the same issue at the end of this flow when closing a container: to update the weight, user must click on the pen icon too. It would be more efficient to directly see the weight in a dedicated space (like the screenshot on MS docs...).

  • Allow manifesting a container with the mobile device

    The new functionality Packing with mobile device allows for container creation, print, deletion and closing. But on the Pack screen we can enter the manifest id during container closing while this is not possible via the mobile app.

    Could you please add the option to enter the manifest id via mobile device (independently or as part of closing)?

  • To populate batch number on container lines when containers were created by automatic containerization

    Each time I used automatic containerization we had one work = one container (work template breaks per container Id).

    With this one on one relationship, the system should be able to inform that the batches that were picked for the work are now in the container.

    I understand it is not possible if one picking work is linked to several containers. But with this 1:1 link, being unable to know which batches are in the container, despite warehouse worker scanned them during picking, causes issues (ASN, packing list, container content report, etc.).

  • Colors choices for workspaces' tiles

    Workspace tiles follow the user color with only 2 levels of intensity when the number is 0 or different than 0.

    It would be great to have more choices here to highlight specific tiles or define several possible range colors for one tile.

    Forcing a color is not the right answer in case someone has issue to see a specific color, so I understand we should remain in the tone on user's selected color, but instead of only 2 gradients (dark and light) I think we could have at least 2 more and/or the option to add a symbol (warning / error for example), or the ability to change the outline maybe.

    The second idea is for example to keep the tile dark when its number is 0, to have it one step brighter until X value, then again brighter until Y, and the highest possible brightness above Z.

  • Ability to suggest a put zone instead of a put location

    I have several customers who would like to be driven by the system to know in which zone a put should be done but leaving the worker select the precise location.

    For example one of them has fridges and freezers: worker should know they must put a product in a fridge or a freezer but the precise location inside the fridge/freezer is not fixed.

    If this is too complicated, at least an option to add a warning or an error message if the worker chooses a location that do not fit the profile or zone from the location selected by the location directive would help.

  • Load building templates break by options

    Load building templates allows break by option based on table/fields selected in the sorting tab of the query.

    Unfortunately in this tab we have only Load details and Shipments tables.

    If we join a new table it won't be available in the sorting tab.

    This is not enough: for example sales order table should be here; sales order pool is a common field used to split/manage sales orders in warehouses.

    Could MS add some tables for sorting or allow the table join to be used in sorting please?
