  • Use wave labels whith containerization

Currently when we use both wave label printing and containerization processes the labels are not saved into wave labels. See scenario 2 here: Wave label printing - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs

So we cannot reprint them easily, neither from the D365 UI, neither from the WMS app. while it is possible for wave label printing based on unit sequence group id.

Why is it not supported by containerization? Could you think about fixing this please?

  • ATP end date shouldn't confirm the sales order line

Today when there is no solution found within ATP time fence the sales order line is automatically confirmed at today + ATP time fence.

But Master planning uses confirmed date when it is filled-in so procurement/planning team doesn't see the real need for this sales order.

We need an option to keep confirmed dates empty on sales order line when ATP fails. This way Master planning will use the requested date and we'll do our best to deliver the customer on time.

  • To add shipment table available in wave label layouts

In Warehouse management > Setup > Document routing > Wave label layouts, we have access to following tables: waves, containers, wave label, work lines, work. It allows the selection of fields from these tables to be printed on wave labels.

We miss the shipment table here, for example to print the carrier / carrier service on the labels.

  • License plate "complete" break

Today when we create a parent license plate with license plate build we can then use license plate break to remove one of the child license plates from the parent license plate. It could be helpful to have a complete break option to completely remove all license plates from the parent license plate.

Use case is to allow a warehouse worker using and reusing their user id to move several pallets at once. Today it is not possible because the parent license plate stays in the target location, but if the parent license plate could be destroyed right after the stock movement warehouse worker could reuse the same id for the next movement.

  • To assign fixed locations via WMS mobile app.

It would be nice to have a new menu option on WMS mobile app. to assign a fixed location to an item. It would ask for the item, display already existing fixed locations for it (if any) and then allow to scan a new location to be added as a fixed location for this item.

  • To have a setup for the quantity triggering the layout on the mobile device app.

Currently on the WMS app., if the quantity is below or equal to 20 we have a rolling selection and if the quantity is above we have a keyboard.

It would be great to have a setup for this number so that customer could set it to 0 to always have a keyboard for instance.

  • To display fixed locations of item on the mobile device app.

Currently, in the WMS mobile app. we can read/scan an item number to know the locations and the quantities on-hand.

It would be great to also have the option to see the fixed locations of a product (even though there is no physical inventory).

  • To have a batch to automatically reserve sales order lines where stock is available

Currently either sales order reservation is:

    • manual and user must go through all sales orders / sales order lines to change it to automatic before releasing them the warehouse,
    • automatic and stock availability is checked only once, at sales order entry.

It would be helpful to have a periodic task to update sales order line reservation once stock is received. This way backorders could be released to warehouse automatically after the purchase order receipt, and stock won't be reserved too early (marking won't be mandatory on the purchase order and one could change inventory status on locations such as inbound dock or quality control, making stock available only once in storage/picking locations).

  • Landed cost and quality management

In inventory management module we can setup quality associations so that upon purchase order registration D365 automatically generates a quality order.

But now we can receive goods from a goods in transit order thanks to the landed cost module, and unfortunately it doesn't trigger quality order creation.

There is no reason why willing to track incoming goods and adding transport costs to items should prevent quality control.

  • Intercompany master planning with Planning optimization

The menu Run intercompany master planning is not supported by Planning optimization.

It would optimize MRP runs when customer has lots of items (80,000) and several companies (7).

The Run intercompany master planning with Number of iterations = 2 is required so that delays from the source company can be seen in the downstream company. Without this option it is difficult to ensure all master plans are sequenced correctly, runs without time loss, and results are consistent across all legal entities.

As Planning optimization is supposed to replace the built-in MRP engine it should at least not deprecate existing features (other bad news with Planning Optimization are: the absence of pegging for safety stock and the fact it doesn't take into account sales forecasts on current day)...
