Material availablity from Planned Orders forms
A user should be able to see if materials are available prior to firming planned production and/or planned transfer orders. Currently one can only see delays and it's not clear if material is available. The current functionality of seeing if material is available when releasing production orders is helpful but ideally the check would occur prior to firming the production order in the first place. -
Add ability to Import Kanban Rules and Kanbans
Customers wishing to use Kanban do not currently have a way to import Kanban Rules or Kanbans. Working with a customer currently that has 1400 Kanban rules and will have many more Kanbans to create from those rules. Ideally would be able to import Production flow activities, Kanban Rules and Kanbans. Also for the imported Kanbans need the ability to set the current state to account for Kanbans that are already at the work cell and will ultimately need to be emptied to restart the replenishment process. -
Ability to see potential cost variances prior to ending production order - Add WIP Value to Production order list page for sorting/Filtering orders to end
The WIP balance on production orders, that have been reported as finished, will end up being the total amount of the variances that will be booked when the production order is ended. Ideally a user would see this amount prior to ending the production orders so that any needed corrections could be done prior to ending. The business case would be a user has a filtered view of all production orders in reported as finished status: and prior to ending them could sort by the WIP value in descending order to see which production orders need research. It is simply not feasible to pull up each production order and select the WIP valuation individually. In a standard cost situation, reporting a finished quantity will book inventory at standard and remove WIP at that same amount. So, any value remaining in WIP prior to ending the production order will end up being booked as variance. Seeing this amount ahead of time can point out errors in reporting, bad standards etc.

Ability to use Advanced Notes functionality for Production
The Advanced notes functionality is quite helpful but is limited to to Customer/Vendors type orders. Ideally this functionality would work across many areas of the system including Production orders. It is quite common to have information that needs to be passed form an Item to the Production order notes or even from a Sales order to a production order. The same functionality should work for Quality orders, Warehouse management etc. We have written the customization several times so that notes attached to the item default to the Production order. We've done the same for Sales order Line notes to the Production orders. Ideally this would be standard functionality.
