A user should be able to see if materials are available prior to firming planned production and/or planned transfer orders. Currently one can only see delays and it's not clear if material is available. The current functionality of seeing if material is available when releasing production orders is helpful but ideally the check would occur prior to firming the production order in the first place.

  • As part of this would be helpful to be able to filter on the available planned order lines.
  • I agree with the request, shortage handling in general is not as good as I've seen in other systems. What I'd really like to see in addition to this is a process that can also be used closer to the point of work order release. An interactive 'bulk trial kitting process', where you can make multiple selections against multiple orders helping to manage those with shortages to enable the best choice of orders for production, whilst the shortages are expedited in.
  • A straight forward way to check material availability at the planned production order stage would be helpful. It would make it managablel to drive the firming of orders when material is available to start production.
  • Agree with others that shortage handling is not as far as it should be. Had to built reports several times to support this. Also it can improve the way how orders can be adjust based on available material. Therefore expected sales orders to be shipped can also be adjusted/informed timely.
