Allow an order line to be generated from the customer external item number. Most customer PO's we get use their own external customer number that we maintain for shipping documents and COA's but we would like to be able to enter the external item number and get back to our released item number instead of having to look up released product and possibly make a mistake.

    Several of my customers have developed this feature in Ax 2009 and Ax 2012 - and I have requests for it in D365 too.

    Our customer is entering their orders using their customer references in their current ERP. This will add a lot of screen openings before they know which item to key in tomorrow in D365.

    This seems so basic, I was stunned to find out we cannot add a line using the customer item number. Hoping this gets some attention sooner than later.

    This Idea is NOT complete. The link for the resolution - is just how to display the external number. The idea here is to create an order line using the external number as the starting value. I am not sure how to get this idea re-opened?
