Creating textual callouts
Suggested by Marcel Heinze – New – 0 Comments
It would be great to have the ability to create invidicual small call out boxes with an own textual description (as 3D object). Usefull to describe specific elements of a machine or parts of it.

Issue search

Why is issue search blocked behind implementation projects? It would also be nice if most of the bugs/support cases logged actually had notes in them explaining the scenarios other than 'by design not fixing'.

Use depth sensors and photogrammetry in HL2 to create object anchors
Suggested by Raiden Stiegel – New – 0 Comments
I would like to use the capabilities of the HoloLens 2 sensors to be able to generate object anchors without needing to buy a 3D scanner.
For example, Maxst Visual SLAM tool can scan 3D with a cell phone camera by rotating the object in view.
What if the HoloLens 2 could create an object anchor by rotating the object in front of HoloLens 2?
That would help simplify the object recognition process and make anchoring guides much simpler.

Support more 3D Source File types for Object Anchors
Suggested by Raiden Stiegel – New – 0 Comments
Forgive me if this question has been asked before.
We can upload 3D Source files of file type (.fbx .ply .obj .glb .gltf) to create object anchors.
Some of my models are in Sketchup (.skp), but the free version of Sketchup does not allow me to export to .obj.
Does Guides plan to support more file types for importing in the future, or is it a best practice to instead export the model to a supported file type?

Fixed Follow Mode
Suggested by Martin Petersen – New – 0 Comments
Moving around in a production as an operator, it would be very beneficial if it was possible to place the step cards at a fixed position e.g. top left corner regardless of where the operator looks.
It would be beneficial compared to the pinning function which the operator cannot see when moving and also beneficial compared to the follow me function which can be a challenge to use due to latency and location of the step card.

Remove the animations menu from the Edit option of such 3D objects which are not to be animated by design to avoid the further confusion
Suggested by Saul Nguyen – New – 0 Comments
The button from the signs that don't support animations in Hololens should be removed instead of being grayed it out, which would cause confusions to users, or at least there should be a message saying that the signs do not support Animations -

D365 GUIDES 3D GIZMO(PIVOT?) function proposal.
Suggested by junwoo park – New – 0 Comments
Hello. I'm suggesting the GIZMO function because there's something uncomfortable I felt when I was mapping on the spot. When I map a 3D modeling or 3D toolkit to a real object, it is quite difficult to place it depending on the direction I see when placing it from a slightly distant location. I want to adjust only the left and right directions, but as soon as I hold the hologram, it moves little by little in the front and back directions, so the mapping position often goes wrong again. Therefore, if there is a GIZMO function like a modeling tool such as 3D MAX or Blend with some position, it will be easier to map in the field by shortening time. Please review it. -
Restart from the step that user has left viewing it.
Suggested by Ankit Gupta – New – 0 Comments
If there are lot more steps to follow in certain procedure (e.g. 100) and user has left the procedure at step#27. It will be great if user can resume his/her work from same step. -
