Currently, Dynamics solution allows to define attribute values at a product master level & these attribute values are inherited by the variants, by default. And there's no provisioning/mechanism for a Merchandising manager to override the attributes values for an individual variant that were by default inherited from the product master.

  • This appears to be a common requirement for E-commerce. As the solution becomes more omnichannel I imagine this capability will be needed more and more.
  • This is a much needed feature as there are demands from most of the customers to define attributes at Variant Level
  • I've needed this capability in multiple ecommerce projects. We've had to use crazy work-arounds.
